That connects me to the same site that I posted and most of the links there ain't working... I guess TATA is waiting for the launch to get done before they have the site completely up!

Most of the fields when clicked throw a pop-up saying "Coming Soon"!

Default Warranty

Noticed that the Warranty offered for the Safari is 18 months-unlimited mileage, which can be extended to 18+18 or 18+30 if you pay a fee.

What is interesting is that amongst the other things not covered by the warranty are the Fuel Injection equipment and A/c, which they say will be covered by the warranty provided by their manufacturers.

Booking my Black EX 4X4 today - finally sold the Accent for a good price. Giving away that car actually gave me a lump in the throat - sad to see it go.

Default Tyres

Guys

Standard tyres are 235/70, R16 105 S Bridgestones.

Is a tyre/wheel upgrade required at all? Since I'm picking the 4X4, I get 16" Alloys as standard.

You realize the 4x4 is going to be heavier, slower, thirstier (on road that is)

If you use it in 2 wheel mode it will not make much of a difference.

Must say that TATA has done a good job with the Safari Website.
It was frustating to see it not load at all and so many other things ... but i belive it was worth the wait ...

Now the important questions .. VX is out of question ( atleast for me) ...

1. LX or EX ?

2. 4X2 or 4X4 ?

Saw the vehicle today, i must say, i am impressed with the fit and finish of the vehicle.. The thing that impressed me the most was the puddle-lamps and the red-hazard lights when the doors are open.. I've been scared to open the driver's side door on highways at night, lest somebody hits it from behind.. and ripps my door apart.. The red-indicator light should solve that problem.. Also, the tiny camera below the number plate and the corresponding screen on the IRVM is truly innovative.. No more do we need to have those ugly mirrors on the back of the vehicle for parking assist.. I've seen the Outer Rear View Parking Mirror on a few endeavours.. And trust me folks that mirror sticks out like a sore thumb to the overall looks and appeal of the endeavour.. I must say TATA has done a good job on it.. By the way, i asked the dealer (prerana motors) about the Fuel Efficiency, he told me that it should give 11/14 on City/Hwy which i think is pretty okay for the vehicle of this size and weight..

Having said that, the new Safari would give the Innova a run for its money since both the vehicles are priced almost in the same range..

I would have loved it if TATA could have shed a few hundred kilograms from the vehicle.. Guess what, I am going to wait for the TELCOLINE before making a decision next month..

Any ideas on the waiting time for the new Safari..
