Spotted the Aveo the other day...please excuse the poor pic but its all I could get while driving!

Great find CLS... the news that i had received that the Aveo was undergoing testing at ARAI has come true. Though this one might be under test at GM, nonetheless it proves that GM is going to launch this car later this year or early next year.

It seems, two engines might find their way into this car. A 1.2 litre 75 bhp+ engine and a 1.4 95+bhp engine. Of course, GM might act retrogressive and plonk the Corsa's 1.4 engine in it, but i guess that would be nothing but emulating Maruti (ala Esteem engine in Swift).

I sincerely hope GM get their strategy right this time, market the car really well (Corsa never got consistent and to the point marketing ever!) and really provide a great package at a now expected VFM price point (Chevy at the end of the day). Of course they, like Maruti will have to wait before the JTD plant comes up and running in 2006 for it to receive a diesel engine.

Anyways,was'nt Chevy supposed to launch the Spark??? Whatever happened to that?

They are not able to launch the Spark because of legal problems with aquiring Daewoo's plant near Delhi. With our Indian red tape, that might take forever.

That's great news. I had a chance to drive the Pontiac Wave here a few weeks back. It had a 1.6 ltr engine with automatic transmission but the car was damn good. Great space and a nice responsive engine. Without a doubt it's a great car for the price it retails at. Definately a worth considering option. But I don't know if GM would launch the Aveo in India with the engine it has here.

I see this camoflaged Aveo everyday. It passes from Sion, Bandra every evening. Looks good in size.

This is the same hatchback I had seen being driven outside ARAI a couple of months ago. The proportions of this car look really good. I wonder if there will be a 3 box version...

I have driven Aveo in US and it's really very good car. But the engine that was in the car i drove was a big fuel guzzler. I am not sure about the specs as my company rented it for my friend when I was driving Accent Coupe. The interiors were good and looked sporty. The audio system (Only FM, no tape, no CD) sounded great.

Good stuff CLS . Benn trying to click this car since a long time . I see this car everyday on the Western Express Highway but unfortunately is always driving the opposite direction and since I'm driving too cant stop to click even though I have the digicam with me .
