So as of now, Parktronic, Rear A/C, Memory Seats, Rear Sunshade and Ambient Lighting is standard, Umm... they still need to add more, keep these coming but in ur next tease can we see the front seats? and The light stalk not just on the steering column but the switch on the dashboard?

Anyone can imagine the above in Black and the lower wood trim under the arm rest of the door be replaced by Aluminium?? Whoa!!!

This car is going to be perfect besides the V6 engine, but then in Feb the 350 CDI comes so it makes up for the loss,

Just to clear some confusion in this thread as well as the thread about the test drive of the new E class. In some pictures of the rear seat, there are either a fold down armrest or a permanent (4-seater) armrest, the version they are going to launch in India is going to be the (5-seater) fold-down armrest with the (4-seater) as an individual option. The difference between the two is in the coding, as Merc likes to call the 5-seater a Saloon (W212) and the 4-seater as a Limousine (V212).

Sidindica, I dont understand why would MBIL first launch the non-CGI engine and then later in few months time upgrade to CGI? isn't that going to be unfair to launch customers especially considering both the engines are available from now? And are they going to sell them both side by side or CGI will be the premium offering? if thats the case they should consider the E550/500 atleast that way they will be the first to get the V8 in the segment the CKD route.

I think ideally this is what they should do,

E200 CGI and E220 CDI as Classic and Elegance
E350 CGI as Elegance only
E500 and E350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY as Avantgarde and perhaps throw in the 4matic? I know sounds too much for MBIL but it would be nice if for once they take the lead rather than just follow the competetion

this way there is enough difference in price between the models and also next tease can it be about the front seats and also is panorama roof included in any of the models?

Sidindica, you are seriously lucky to know all about the launch specs, Seriously this is one gorgeous car coming out from Mercedes-Benz!

@rrsteer: Dear, this information was extracted out of taxi drivers on my last visit to Germany, I got to sit in one as well.

Taxi drivers are the people living with the cars and I think they know it best. The cost of components/servicing/maintenance etc. are part of the consideration. Once in Oslo, I got to learn that taxi drivers even try to check how the car performs (handling and braking) once the snow tires are on. Active and passive security systems, rear seating comfort are all considered before a taxi is bought. Again there its not the second hand cars that go to taxi stands, but due to stricter control over carbon footprint and the safety aspect, taxi are mostly bought in volumes by companies and driven by the staff.

Also my friends there rave about the quality rediscovered by Mercs. Two of them get to drive new E as office cars. It is a matter of perception, what we think quality of ride at lower speeds say <60 that is starting speed for Germans. Thus when high speed stability is concerned they talk in terms of minimum 120 kmph.

Till date I have only heard positives from them. Thus the post.

Disclaimer: I am not a Merc salesman I will buy an M3 rather than a C63 without second thought.

What is the meter on the left side of the speedometer??
Is it a real time analog fuel economy meter??
