Scoop: Tata Indigo 'Vista' spotted!

Saw a disguised test mule doing rounds in coimbatore a few days back, from the interior, it is clearly visible that it is the new Indigo. There was no testing equipment inside the car, so i guess they were just doing final rounds of road testing, implying it is close to release. The car had a very funny looking tail lamp though, but that too may have been placed for misleading the onlookers. Sorry for the poor pix! Taken from my phone cam.

Were the cars moving real fast ? How was the approximate engine performance ? What was the approximate physical size ? Was the wheelbase as long as that of Logan ?

If you had to chase them, which car you were in, this is gauge to approximate engine performance.

And those centrally mounted instrument cluster is not good IMHO. Could have been better placed. I hope they have IRS. In Vista they gave excuse of load carrying for not giving IRS, but they are not allowing passing of Vista as Tourist vehicle. I hope they give trailing link suspension if not struts.

I hope they make the front design a litle bit different than the indica vista. othervise this will also look the same as the indica with the boot which the current indigo is.

nice..Yup with the interior looking similar as Vista seems to be new indigo itself.
The engine will be the same 1.3 multijet one. I feel the front look maybe is different than Indica Vista.

I would call that hoping against hope. Seriously this kind of rumors have been around for this multijet engine for quite some time now, and i dont see it materializing atleast in near future

@Motor- I think most of magazines have confirmed that Indigo would get the same engine plonked in Linea( as mentioned by tekno). Only time will tell if it happens. But i get a feeling it will.

I cant imagine a indica vista with a boot. Thats got to be the ugliest car ever released. But I have a feeling thats whats going to happen and probably they will release a vista marina too :P

I could not identify whether the car was petrol, or diesel, but it sure was peppy, when they saw me taaking the pix, it just zipped off, and was overtaking, some saloons with ease. Also, it brakes Very well, coz a biker jumped in front and they managed to somehow do a panic stop in time, That's how i managed to get a side pic!. The car seemed bigger than the older indigo, but dunno if it is due to the covers.

I spotted this near singanellur on the way to trichy road.

Its suprising the pics still havent been watermarked??? Are we waiting for auto journals to copy the pics before watermarking them??? I hate Tata's standard wheels they have running on their test mules. For a marque that owns Jag and Lan Rover, this is simply not acceptable.
