Meanwhile read this news on ET.
Surely Ford is leaving no stone unturned for it's long stint in India.
Auto Expo 2012: Ford opens new dealership in India 'every 10 days - The Economic Times

With wide dealership network, I see Ford atleast to be no:4 in India after Maruti, Tata & Hyundai.

I like what i see!!! If priced well, will blast any competition out off the arena! hopefully it would be launched by the middle of this year!

But i have a bad feeling that this 4 meter mini suv is going to be priced between 7 to 10 lakhs ! hopefully after the new fiesta's failure ford will price the eco sport wisely.

I just loved the Ecosport. Ford, I am waiting with the cheque. Please deliver the showcar

For those who missed, it will be launched with a 3 cyl 1 litre Eco-boost engine which is a direct injection turbo charged petrol. Power output will be 120 bhp and a torque of 170 Nm. The presenter confirmed this engine for India.

Thanks GTO, but the link is somehow not opening. Can anyone give the updates here on what's happening in the launch?

quiet a looker! and 120 ps power, 170 nm torque from a 1L engine! this can be ford's trump card provided they have learnt from the success of the figo and failure of new fiesta on pricing.

autocar tweets price is likely to be around 8 lakhs

I hope & pray they get an Automatic gearbox with the ecoboost engine. Will be the best upgrade for my Santro.

And if they bring in a 4x4 Auto gearbox I will be dancing in the streets.

The Ecosport looks brilliant and the 1.0L EcoBoost makes it even more amazing

I keep my fingers crossed on the pricing!

Hello guys,

Sorry i have not been checking a lot of threads recently owing to work. I am here at the ecosport launch. I hope you guys liked the car. Some details for you as shown in the presentation.

1.0 L Ecoboost engine is a 3 cylinder 120 PS and 170 NM of torque engine. It has so much power and torque from such a small size as it incorporates turbo charging and direct injection.

The diesel engine will most likely be the 1.5 TDCi as seen in the new fiesta.

The interiors will be similar to the fiesta incorporating minor changes (like the differentiating factors between the classic and the fusion)
