I think the car magazine people who test drive these cars are more experienced. they push these cars to the limits we cannot imagine. Why to mislead people because of personal brand preference? I wouldnt challenge the facts given by Jagat Nanjappa,Aspi Bhathena, Hari Singh, Karun chandhok and Hormaz d Sorabjee.I like Honda cars too. Honda cars are damn fast but the above specs are seriously plagiarized. Autocar has the lowest acceleration timings above all and even their figures seem higher to the figures posted here.

Autocar 0-100 for the city vtec- 10.01
bsmotoring 0-100 for the vtec -10.56 secs

grand vitara which is more powerful than cr-v does a 0-100 close to 10 seconds. Now how come it is less quicker than the honda?

here is a quote from autocar

The Vitara, with its large, aggressively tuned V6 is like a great white shark, with big teeth. The 166bhp V6 delivers grunt by the bucketful, and is incredibly responsive. Tap the throttle to make up that gap in traffic or to slingshot past a truck, and the Grand Vitara will lunge forward, even from as low as 1500rpm. The rev-band is meaty throughout, so this portly 1.7-tonne SUV blitzes the ton as quickly as a Honda City VTEC!

now how come crv is fast and into the sub 10 second zone???old one was an automatic on top of that. even the new one has two versions. automatic and manual. even taking the manual in consideration grand vitara is faster.

Ok then, lets stick to the mags. OD cliams 9.92 and that is what i've posted.

Eitherways, the Vtec is in the 9 sec bracket.

Ask your fav mag why it is so. They're the only ones got got it in the 9 sec bracket.

If you believe ACI, then i don't see you having a problem with the CR-V doing 9.83.

Unless you think OD did a better job at testng the CR-V, at 10.xx secs.

BTW, according to ACI, the Accord 2.4 is the fastest sub 20 lakh car. The RS they tested did some 9.06 sec to 100.

We either take the figures from one mag or take the fastest figure achieved by all the mags combined.

U can't just barge in and say OD were wrong in testing the Vtec at 9.92 and then say that ACI were wrong in testing the CR-V at 9.83.

Your choice of magazines seem to change with what ever figure favours you.

I always stick to OD figures (unless they haven't tested a car) even if it means that the Accord has to play 2nd fiddle to the RS.

Fastest car in India price no bar?
I think the Bentley Continental GT can touch 190mph (306km/h). Wonder what happened to the Ferrari dealership. National Garage .... zzzzz!

About the OD figures well they were not available on the internet officially so I didnt take them into account but then that should have been cleared in the first attempt if you just said that these are OD figures.

I am also a car buff and enthusiast. Anyways I want peace here. NO grudges with you man. You love your car I love mine. Lets keep it till that. have fun and keep posting.

you even tried to prove me bad last time by saying I switch mags for my preference and mislead people. Show me a post where I did that
You disagreeing to the CR-V doin 100 in 9.83 itself is a proof of it. When ACI says so, how can you disagree?

even last time I said Autocar is better.Looks from your posts like moderators are now insulting the members to show their superioriy
The CR-V statement clearly shows that you aren't sure about ACI. I ain't insulting you, i'm just asking you to stick with one mag. OD manages 9.92 from the Vtec (you says it's not that fast), ACI manages 9.83 from the CR-V (you again say it can't be done).

So, which mag are you supporting? Thats all i wanna know.

It would have been pretty convenient for me to claim that the CR-V does 100 in 9.83 but, do you see the CR-V on my list? It's a diff thing, if the CR-V wasn't tested by OD, then i'd have taken the ACI figure but, when the car has been tested, i preffer to stick with it.

You tell me, which mag you want to see the figures to be taken from and i'll make a list according to that.

haha ..in that case the Continental GT @ 200mph makes it the fastest car in india sold by its manufacturer ..
..note : these are CBU's and not private imports

i am a bit skeptical about the " 250kays speed limiter on Imports "..

Devarshi and Shantanu,

No need to get hot under the collar here.

But do keep in mind that the magazines test brand new vehicles. A well run in conditioned engine will perform better with time.

I think the Mercs and Audis have it everywhere. Even the mighty CL65 AMG is limited to 250kmph.

Ofcourse it's a diff thing that most owners will remove the limiter the moment they take delivery of the vehicle.

But, when the cars roll out of the showroom, they're limited.

E 55 AMG

CL 65 AMG

SL 55 AMG

Only the Mclaren SLR isn't limited.
