Can one claim failure of a component, say auto gearbox or engine under a comprehensive insurance, say if you have one with Zero Dep, NCB protection, etc ?
If accident damage is covered, then I should believe that premature failure should also be covered.
In the Marine Industry, one can claim failure/damage of equipment on one's own ship under insurance (its called Hull & Machinery Insurance). The H & M Insurance does not cover parts that are to be replaced under normal wear & tear.
I would appreciate your views please

If the answer is yes, then IMHO Extended Warranty should not be taken.
