Have the sales of fiat increased? coz the new car owners thread shows more fiats than a hyundai or a honda.
LOL its not the fiat threads. Its just that there are more fiat fans on this thread then even Ferrari fans!

why is there no more news on the palio 1.6 sport
Fiat believes no news is good news. I was going for a 1.6 sport test drive but unfortunately could not find a dealer! All seem to have shut shop here in Mumbai!

By the way is the 1.6 Palio comparable to the GTX. Since the 1.6 Sport is of the NV series and fiat has detuned the 1.2 to curb FE. So has this step been taken on the 1.6 too?

By the way the new Palio 1.6 Sport does come with ABS!

Palio 1.6 sports and GTX are same. Detuning done only for 1.2 engine.

Well as far as i know there are around 4 or 5 dealers. Out of which 2 have shut shop and become dealers of other cars. But still the big dealer near metro is there.

Air bag is still an option i guess!

If engine is not detuned why do they call 1.6NV Sport or do they?

I went there about two months back. Hmmm ... maybe it has closed in the interim? Been seeing Petra ads from Anurrop in the newspaper a bit often these days.

And yeah. Go ahead and get pissed off with Fiat. Even Fiat owners are. *LOL*

Well, I just read in the latest ACI that Fiat Factory in Kurla hasn't been operational since the Mumbai floods (July 26), the damage to their body shop has been extensive and they are still negotiating with the insurance company about the repair estimates. Does this mean they haven't produced a single car since July?

Happened to meet a senior ex-Fiat guy. True that the Kurla plant was damaged. But the weld shop is the one which is a complete write off. They did produce cars, but in limited numbers with whatever little inventory they had maintianed. Accrording to him, production will be stopped at Kurla soon after it is finalised whether further production will be done in Ranjangaon or at the Tata plants in Pune.

He also mentioned that the guys in Turin had not really attached much importance to right hand drive markets as over 90% of their global sales came from LHD markets.

From whatever I have heard of from dealer, the plant was closed for almost couple of months but became operational recently. They have started producing the vehicles again.
