Swift or Getz or Palio 1.6sport - Team-BHP

Guys..of late its noticed that Getz & Swift are being compared..but conveniently avoiding a power pack..none other than Palio 1.6 Sport (eka GTX..which is relaunched now).

So lets do a reality check which one stands where.

(one more tit bit: new santro with erlX technology has 32bit MPFI it seems..

..Palio had it when it was launched in way back 2001. Hyundai claims they are giving the latest in engine technology to Indians..)

What a way to fool Indians!

Its always the Palio GTX for me... But I feel a correct poll would have been to include the 1.2 sibling as it is close to Swift and Getz in displacement figures.

Strange, coz FIAT dealer at Kolkata said it has not been launched. The Palio NV Sport still comes with the 1.2 engine

The Palio for me, even though I feel that the interiors of the other two cars would be a tad bit better.

why don't you guys take opel corsa sail into consideration...it might not be vfm but its surely a good quality product...anyways it always has to be the palio gtx ...fastest hatchback

Palio 1.6 should not be compared with swift and getZ.. its only compititor is sail 1.6.

And i have voted for Palio.
Reason -

Palio vs Getz -

Looks better,
better performance
better handling
Cheaper
more comfortable
Safer

Palio vs Swift -

More comfortable
Better quality
More Space
Better performance
Better Handling
Safer

Even as an overall car,
the Palio 1.2, 1.6, 1.9D is superior to their respective competition.

Its not fair a fair comparison. I give my vote to the SuzukiSwift.

I voted for the Getz.
Sure it doesnt look as "FRESH" as the Swift or doesnt "PERFORM" like the Palio 1.6 , it surely does tick the right boxes in a lot of other places. It does things that it is supposed to do in the first place perfectly ...and in my opinion that matters !

Given below is a table where i have ranked the cars .. 1st , 2nd or last on different parameters that we consider while buying cars and the car that scores the least amount of points wins .

there was an quarter page ad given by the local dealer in the paper abt the discounts on the various models,in which the palio 1.6 sport was also included

well for me there was never any contest since the palio always rode and handled and generally felt far better than several mid-sizers,,esteem,ikon and accent included,,also the getz is already an outdated model internationally,it was launched in 2002 in Europe,,today u can pick up a 2001 1.2 elxps for about 1.5 lakhs,,VFM KING SIZE

Have always liked the palio. The looks were getting a bit dull after the launch of swift. But now after a small stint with the local body shop that has also been taken care of thanks to my brother. Looks better hotter and better than swift now IMHO. When i can get a second hand one for 2.5L there is no way I am going to vote eiter for the getz or the swift.

GTX will rule the segment unless other firms like skoda launch hatchbulls...
