I am really surprised after seeing (the front page of the Trivandrum edition) today's The Hindu daily.
N.Ram who runs this newspaper is a big time socialist.

In kerala this is nothing new. Here people are suprised by the publicity one strike in gurgaon achieved. We are pretty used to burning govt vehicles :-| ,police beating up agitators, and vice versa ;-)
Communist. I hate them. They screwed up kerela. And now this has happened in gurgaon... its certainly a bad sign for gurgaon. But then, they are doing just the opposite in bengal, by trying to sell off goverment run companies and trying to bring in FDIs...

Amen to that.... They have more love for their elder brothers in Beijing than for their own motherland.

Excuse me.
gkrishn & zaphod. Sorry to say this, but this is pure ignorance. You are talking like Americans of cold war era. There is nothing called communism or socialism in practise now.

Hi Sivadas,

There may be no Communism in practice in it's old strongholds but our senile marxists seem to think it has a brilliant future - A miced economy welfare state with efficient institutions I'd applaud , a strangled and stunted economy and a rampant bureaucracy I don't and it's quite easy to guess what they want.

i do not have anything against communism except a few 'minor' facts - it has resulted in the deaths of millions for the sheer reason of some strange idea of progress(The former Soviet Union , China, Cambodia and even now in NK), Tibet has been occupied and it's culture destroyed, Taiwan is constantly threatened and our nice friendly neighbour to the west can aim it's chinese designed nukes at us - besides, remember 1962 and even now , The communist parties are at the forefront of trying to block every progressive idea - at least they support the womens reservation bill- one saving grace - They don't want an economically and militarily powerful India, they'd rather take orders from their masters in Beijing and keep us confined to a regional role with half of bangladesh settled in our country, a crippled military and no job/wealth creation, just stagnation and decline.

Cold war ? well i supported the Soviets - they were the ones helping us and selling us the t-72's and Mig-29's and using the threat of their veto in the UNSC to support us- what matters is who can help us more - ideology has no place - just interests - as someone once said 'there are no permanent allies , only permanent interests' (was it that ******* Kissinger ?)

P.S read my post on the previous page....

lets not turn this into a political argument..sorry mods

Hi All,

The question "Who is responsible for all this thing happened ?" is always going to remain controversial. After some days everyone will forget this but this incident may cause Foreign Companies specially those who require large number of Labour Force, to rethink their future plans to setup/expand India operations. Even Japanese Ambassador has said like this

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/a...ow/1182711.cms

Also labour laws in India are so complicated that even someone fired a court case against HONDA , then nobody should expect a fruitful result even if it in favour of company or Labour.
