| My name is Mike Boxwell - I don't visit these forums often, but I do pop by from time to time. I own a Reva electric car, which I have owned for around 3˝ years. I recently had a chance to test drive the new Reva NXR which really is a fantastic vehicle. I'm currently writing a book on owning electric cars - covering the ownership experience of owning and using an electric car, and I'm after some help from Team BHP forum members. I would like people to fill in a short online questionnaire about their assumptions about electric cars, what they believe electric cars are good at, what they're not so good at and what electric cars would have to do before you would consider buying one. The information will be used (anonymously, of course) to help me understand what subjects my book has to cover, and make sure the book addresses the subject as comprehensively as possible. If you do not already own an electric car, please could you fill in this questionnaire: Electric car survey for non owners If you do already own an electric car, there is a separate survey here: Electric car survey for existing owners Many thanks for your help.

| BHPian | Nice to know that you are writing a book as well as a fan of the Reva. Did TD once with a friend and was quite surprised by it. Also have taken your survey. All the best and keep us updated.

| Senior - BHPian | hi mike why not work through the threads in this forum which talk about the reva electric car - alternate perspectives can be found there. I dont own one myself but find myself thinking more and more about it now that the traffic situation here has gotten out of hand! cheers

| Hi Mike! Great to hear that you're doing this. I'm hoping your book will convince many a reader to shed their inhibitions and take the electric plunge. But Im also hoping that manufacturers understand the demographic they are targetting. There's a reason why people are wow'd by the solar roof of the Prius, the sheer awesomeness of the tesla. If they could push the envelope further and give end buyers more reasons to switch to electric other than just savings, I believe that this effort will be effective |

| Thanks guys for all your feedback. It is really appreciated. I've been researching this book for around two years now and have spoken to people across Europe and the United States - electric car owners, designers, manufacturers, battery manufacturers, planners working for the utility grid networks, politicians, scientists and many others. I've visited the REVA factory in Bangalore and in December I meet with the president of Mitsubishi in Japan. What I felt was missing was input from car enthusiasts the world over - its easy to find the information for Europe and the US, but not so easy to find it elsewhere, so thank you to all of you who have taken the time to fill in the survey. Screwdriva: I totally agree with you about the demographic, and I can assure you that this has not been forgotten. The Reva NXR will have a roof-top solar panel available as an option and in Southern India that should gain a range of 2-3km for every hour the car is in the sunshine. The Reva NXG is an awsome little sportscar that will be available in 2011: when the car was shown at the Frankfurt motor show in September, they had enquiries from two Ferrari dealers who wanted to supply the car.
