Xylo is not officially available for Taxi/Cab till date. So all its sales are from individual users and unofficial cab operators.

From Jan to Oct 2009, Mahindra sold about 23,500 Xylos. Toyota sold about 33,500 Innovas in this period. So Xylo is about 10K behind Innova in sales. Now, if you consider the fact that nearly 25-30% of Innova sales are to the Taxi market, then Xylo's performance seems pretty good - not "dismal" at all

Mahindra will probably come out with the Taxi/Cab version of Xylo around January, and then it would be interesting to see how things evolve.

My biggest complaint about the Xylo is the absolute lack of luggage space. What were they thinking?? I'll rant more on this when I post my 5000km report (at 4,700 now - so should cross 5K this weekend).

Cheers.

@H3Lios ,
Even i agree if the Xylo launches the taxi version at the above quoted price it would for sure pump up the sales!!

So, one year down the line we can conclude that the Xylo has not killed a single sedan. And more competition is on the way.
