If Fiat brings Alfa here, that would be like having a threesome with Bar Rafaeli and Gisele BŁndchen.

Perhaps looks are not everything afterall!

Coming to topic, reagarding Brazilian vs Indian Punto, one thing that i fail to understand, why India always gets step motherly treatment in comparison to Brazil (another third world country) when it comes to Fiat cars? Don't they realize that India is one of the fastest growing car market, specially small cars? Someone please enlighten.
Well, It is definitely different scenario here in Kerala. Most of the cars you see are diesels and I can see many Lineas now in town. I think Mallu-land can prove to be a good market for Fiat. ANHCs are comparatively less - people are VFM buyers and we are diesel lovers!!!

The first thing I noticed when I came from Blr to Trivandrum is that every Swift you see here is an LDi/VDi! Swift LXi/VXi and Zxi are a rare sight.

The Brazilian Fiats are a step ahead of Indian ones of course. They are more established there and the sales volumes there can explain that.

Where's the spare tyre then? Well, there isn't one. A puncture repair kit is provided instead.
Thank you Mods. It's a great idea to have individual threads for each manufacturer.

CNG Punto is a master stroke. Places like Delhi should welcome it with red carpet.

Spare wheel is not a big issue for CNG cars, for they don't go out of big cities--mostly. With availability of CNG limited to big cities, there won't be many takers for that variant of Punto in smaller cities.

When was the last time anyone suffered a flat in his tubeless tyre in a city?

The cars were the same at the Fiat stall, but boy did they have some variants. Lets start with the most awaited...

Fiat Linea 1.4 T-Jet

- 1.4 Turbocharged petrol
- Rated at 108 BHP (110 PS)
- Rear disc brakes
- 16 inch alloy wheels
- Leather seats
- Other extras such as a shark fin on the roof, spoiler etc.

Engine will initially be available only in top trim level. Expect 1.5 lakh rupee premium. Launch latest in 2nd quarter of 2010, though I wouldn't be surprised to see it here earlier.

I did.

The first puncture on my brand-new Yokohama A-drives, which went flat within a few hours. It was discovered just when I was getting late for a meeting after receiving a shouting from my boss. It was just a bad day.

Sorry, terribly OT, but just to let you know that the possibility exists.

Here is another pic of Linea Dualogic gearshifter from other side as posted before.Of all companies i found Fiat had come up with the cars that really made sense to both their won line up and prospective customers .
And that Dualogic is excellent value if priced right as has Fiat has done with current Punto & Linea.

Also the Punto CNG has a repair kit for tubeless tyre and air compressor too as part of kit .:-)

I was wondering can the 205/55/16 wheels of the Tjet be fitted on the current linea without touching the wheel arches or the T jet has raised suspension or shocks to accomodate the larger wheel?

True, I was in Waynad last week and saw a lot of Swifts and Ritz, but Diesels. Also surprisingly A stars were very common and so were Grande Sumos. Saw may Lineas as well.

The Punto Sport on display was not a production version. Thus, lets wait for actual customer cars before commenting on the interior quality.

Changing the rear pillars + window size is out of scope for even a facelift version! Nope, there is no improvement on this count.

10 more horses will probably improve the timing by 1.5 seconds. I highly doubt the 11.9 second 0 - 100 claim.

What's the point of an AT if you have to use a clutch anyways?

Is DualLogic similar to what they have on Honda Acura?

I had seen similar gearbox on top end Acura models in US. One of our clients, who is car crazy and wants to have more control on the car, opted for this than regular auto-tranny.

Ya sure.. I am going for 205/50/17, so this 205/55/16 can be easily fitted \.
