I basically walk across to the book stall and pick up all of the Auto mags available(whn in India). The regular Indian stuff ACI, Overdrive, BSM look to be the best of the lot.

I was really looking forward to TG who have got the best verdict section on the local cars but their articles are too international in flavour and all their writers seem to do is to Ape Jeremy Clarkson's acerbic style of reviewing (works superbly on TV not so much in print) and replace the city Manchester / London / Paris in the foreign press articles with a Mumbai / Delhi etc etc

Cool Typo!

Which magazine will you subscribe too this year?
Autocar India

That has to read 'to' and not 'too'

Autocar India seems to be the first one to test drive new Indian cars.

BSMotoring has very intersting head-to-head comparos.

Top Gear has an interesting, informal writing style.

It's time to bring out a Team-Bhp Magazine, with so many automotive pundits on board.

Although I don't subscribe to Autocar, I get both AutoCar India and What Car from the magazine stands. It has good reviews and the mileage and top speed figures are accurate unlike overdrive where mileage figures are exaggerated. Presentation is also good in Autocar. Only disappointment is that it has more number of AD pages than Auto content pages, but thats okay.

Haven't subscribed to any mag, but I am a regular newstand buyer. Mainly Autocar, occassionaly Overdrive. Haven't checked out Top Gear. Used to read Auto India and BSM regularly a few years back, but they've gone down in standard I think.

won't subscribe to any 1 but rather keep my options open.

like Top Gear for the quality of pics and articles (though not so much india-centric)

BS Motoring has great write ups and Autocar is also good.

So these 3 are the top ones as far as I am concerned.

I do not subscribe to any mag, but buy all of them every month. But I really look forward to only Autocar & Top Gear.

IMO, Autocar is the better one of the lot, but its language is full of "howevers" and "althoughs" and "stills".

Top Gear is VFM just for Jeremy Clarkson's column and its bold, in-your-face attitude on environmental issues.

Overdrive is perhaps the most comprehensive one, but the language is too plain.

Car India is the least impressive of the lot.

BSM
is fun, but sometimes they fill half of their pages with reprints of earlier articles and pics.

Indian Auto now has improved vastly and makes for interesting reading.

The heartening thing is: remember when we could only get "Car & Bike International" & "The Indian Auto Journal"?

I have retained most of the issues of all these mags.
