Tata is known to derrive as many variants as possible out a single platform. This is good for the customers and I do hope that they will bring out the estate version of the Manza. People who value practicality/utility would definitely prefer this over Manza sedan.
I think Marina has been reasonably successful when you consider the response for station wagons in general here in India.

Default Indigo Manza Marina

If anyone from the Tata Motors is listening, then I would say...
Launch a CS Marina than wasting time on Manza Marina. shorter than 4 metres would mean that price will be a killer. it should something like a stretched Wagon R with loads of space for rear passengers and luggage. with 1.3QJD, that would be a killer.

I so wanted to buy the Indigo Marina.. but then its ancient interiors put me off! I hope Tata motors are planning something!

Manza interiors + Manza's 90 bhp Multijet at the price of the Manza, is what I wish for!

Here is an illustration on how the Vista Marina should be in my opinion:

Hi ashutoshb, Nice work. Looks the design to be coherent. The most important aspect is that the ugly face of Manza is not used and instead the relatively pleasing vista face is used. Good looking car indeed. Hope that is a strong candidate.

Ashutosh, that really looks awesome hope Tatas are listening.

But I dont think the volumes of the Marina are good enough to substantiate investing PD amount on a station wagon which has still not kicked off as a concept in India.

But they can rebadge it like a mini SUV kind of stuff and try pushing for it.

Moreover, going by the recent experience of Manza owners in its thread, its already at 11 kmpl. adding a top till the D pillar will surely take a beating on its FE for sure, anything below 10 kmpl is a no-no in India.

Thanks guys! In my opinion, the wagons will only work when manufacturers do not charge a premium for them. Till now they have, and they have seen the result. Wagons can be a success, only if they are priced right.

I wish TML gets us Manza Wagon.
I have a Marina where I have transported 7 adults + 2 3yr old kids within the city (for about 80 KMs) without much of a problem and without a breakdown.

It has never given me a problem during any of my long/city drives so far. If this is what "reliability" is, then, YES, its "reliable"

I would definitely prefer to see Manza Wagon with a small price addition of couple of thousands compared to Manza sedan. It was how Marina was priced compared to Indigo sedan.

Kaviprem - the marina even with the estate shape is just a 5 seater. How did you carry 7 adults? + 2 kids? (2 in the dickey). As such when we squeeze people like oranges even 7 can be fitted in an M800, but that is not actually advisable, nor safe nor legal.

One can carry a max of 5 persons in a Marina legally.

Now is the age of estate shaped MUV's (7 seaters - 2 + 3 + 2), if the Vista Marina format can achieve this then it may have a future.

ACM, 5 adults + 2 kids on lap is an usual commodity on Indian roads and am sure you are aware of this unless you just landed from US or Europe just kidding, never mind.

Put a bed OR a stable cushion with 2 side pillows on Marina's trunk, you will also be attracted by its comfort of sitting down with legs spread across This is how I carried 2 (1 teen + 1 adult) in the local city trip. Ofcourse, I wouldnt do this when I go on highways where I cross beyond 70/80 KMPH. In Bangalore, we hardly go in 60's within City.

Coming to the legal part, yes, you are right.

Hey Ashutosh that is nice piece of work, loved the first rendering,Dont think Tata's will venture into production of IVM as there is a very limited demand for Wagons here. But would love to own one if mated with good engine.

Wow. First one for me takes the cake. Id love to own one in the right price and with the 90 bhp engine and not vastly different interiors from Manza. Im a wagon lover but guess the market is still very niche in India. Also marina now come with a taxi wagon image atleast here in mumbai as well as bangalore.

I dont think Tata is in any hurry to launch an estate version of the Manza .
The numbers are just not enough to justify such an excersise .
The concept has failed to take off in the Indian market .
Unless export markets demand it , I dont think it will come about .
