just spoke to the dealer; he said that there may be changes made to the body as well ... rumours around that it would be launched under a new brand "Liana" and that baleno might be decommissioned.

if it looks something like this, then i am happy with my baleno

Hey all recent Baleno holders, rejoice. I've just had some information from a trusted source in Maruti. The changes are only going to be done to interiors and maybe tyres. NO CHANGES ARE BEING DONE TO THE BODY.

Goodie .. so it'll be on the lines of the Esteem .. hope they reduce the price too and offer at least 175 rubber on 14inch wheels .. maybe they'll do so in the VXi .. asking too much am I ?

I don't think the prices would be reduced in the new Baleno, in fact the current discounts would be scraped ( so, new Baleno would turn out to be more expensive). Regarding tyres, they should upgrade them to atleast 185.

Me too happy with my baleno when it comes to comparing with liana... the liana is one bad shaped car, looks worse than the nhc.. i feel there's something wrong with the car proportions, like less width and more height or so...the rear looks worse than baleno's (can u imagine something worse than baleno's rear ) and front end is slightly better with the new grill on the 2005 model (the one shown in this picture) compared to older model

Man!!! The car looks like NHC and Indigo hybrid with side line borrowed from lancer...total mess!!! Verdict: Wont sell even as much as Baleno..guys get ready for some great discounts in coming months...If the car has the same baleno mill then the car wouldnt even perform as much as a Baleno due to its non aerodynamic design exactly like corolla's suffering!!! But as per my knowledge the new baleno is not this one at all...New baleno is maxillo plastic surgery on the old one,,,atleast that is what Ive heard!!!

Shobith15 this contradicts what Catamaran has to say about body changes.
I am getting really jittery,
I recently took a delivery of my Baleno on 7th sep

Will face a Rap from my old man, if they do anything to alter the body
I convinced him to buy this you see...

kiran
welcome dude...
i dont think mul is gonna replace the baleno with a liana,, baleno and liana are different cars altogether and if MUL is to launch Liana we would have got the info long time before like we had for Swift...All Maruti is gonna do with baleno is change bumpers, change the tail lights, change the AC/ Blower controls to knobe type (Rotary) instad of the sliding ones, change tyres and a few things here and there.... For that You will have to give up the high discounts MUL is offering now for baleno... and without the discounts i dont feel baleno is a "VALUE OF MONEY" as claimed by most people.. These are my thoughts even though i own a baleno....

I would give MUL the benefit of doubt .. I think they are well aware that the current sales figures of the Baleno have a lot to do with the OTR price .. IMO they won't do anything to the price structure that will increase the OTR too much ..

I just heard from the sales guys that the only changes for the new Baleno are:
1) New tail lights for both LXi and VXi
2) Kenwood stereo is being changed for VXi (not sure which new brand)
3) Change of alloys for VXi (slightly better profile)
4) Prices of VXi have gone up by 12k
5) No price change for LXi
6) Slightly better tyres for LXi (not very sure of this though)

Regards,

Pradeep

i feel the stock fabric is fairly good ... anyways, people would change the seat covers to art leather or leather ... so i don't know if the "all new executive fabric" would be useful ...
