Exclamation Government of India sticker on car

Hi all,

This topic might be a bit tricky and controversial for some but here goes.

Is there any law prohibiting sticking of "GOVERNMENT OF INDIA - BHARAT SARKAR" sticker across the car windshield?

I am planning to put this on my 2008 Honda Accord. Do you think it could cause any hassle?

Why would you want to put a GoI sticker across the windshield ?

I have a green strip of "Ministry of Headless Chickens" below the license plate

Doesn't interfere with the rules, or the govt, or any law as such, nothing more than a bumper sticker and little freedom of expression.

If you dont know what "Ministry of Headless Chickens" mean you will need to find out yourself.

You can't pass off as a Government official with that kind of sticker on the windshield. It will stick out as a fraudster. What is your plan anyway ?

Are you indeed a government official,or want to pose as one? Either ways you should be behind bars!

No offense meant..!

GoI servant wouldn't be bothered with such trivial matters. That proves you aren't a GoI servant.
Now, what is your intention eh? <eyebrows cocked & sideways glance>

Yes Ronen Sen made this remark on Indian MPs sitting in Parliament opposing the nuclear deal.

My FIL is an Inspector with the Police. He said he cannot put a 'Police' sticker on his personal car. And he doesn't.

@Faelle, so you might want to check with the GOI sticker.

EDIT: I guess you should have 2 crossed Indian flags on the dash, a dhoti, a neta topi, a huge tilak on your forehead and do a namaste the moment you get down your car. That otta do it.

Be careful with such stuff as it may attract punishment if you are going to use the National emblem or GOI sticker (like the ones used on Govt cars)
Why do you want to put a GOI sticker on your Accord ?

I once saw a chap driving a car with what looked like a POLICE sticker on the back - the exact same font, red colour and so on. Upon closer inspection however, it read 'POLITE'!

You cannot do that on your private vehicle. Only offical cars of the central governemnt can get that done. The cars of the state government can get the name of the state governemnt written.Apart from this private taxis doing offical duty can put a sticker of" on government duty" with the necessary documentation. My private cars have all those stickers you are talking about including permission for red lights / tinted glasses extra but nobody can write "GOI" on private vehicles.

it is said that the human mind reads the first and the last letters and assumes the word (this is called something, i cannot recall). hence, at a distance or in a glance one reads POLITE and POLICE
