The Etios in flesh as a production version is looking a lot better than shown by Toyota at the auto expo. But its not a looker surely.

Aagh Toyota! Why such bland looking cars. Why do we see such outdated designs being introduced only here?

On a side note, notice the red colored beat on one of the pics. It steals the road with its funky presence.

It does not bode well for toyota if the general public is already associating the looks of the Etios sedan with the logan.

Etious sedan is said to come with a 1.5L VVT-i engine.(overdrive)

The test cars have KA registration but get spotted in Ludhiana. Is toyota following Chevy Cruze testing pattern? Should we expect these test cars in other places across the country?

I wished Toyota could have considered 2010 Toyota Passo/Daihatsu Sirion for India as their competitor to Swift/Ritz.

Here are the pics for reference.

Default Tough for Toyota

Thanks Aniket for your pics.
IMO both, the sedan and the hatchback, are too bland.
Toyota designers seem to have run out of fresh and bold ideas. The company may offer a competitive price tag and load the cars to the brim with features, along with excellent fit and finish , (including the paint work ),in a bid to attract the Indian customers. However it has to face stiff competition from the players who know the small car market better.
The sedan with its Logan like looks seems to have a more difficult task ahead.

Toyota has been making some very grave and expensive mistakes. THe recent recalls in US are testimony to that.

Let the Toyotas and Hondas learn from real world experience in India. Remember when MTV came to India with their one size fits all attitude what happened to them? They were wise and came out in tune with our tastes. Same will happen to Toyota and Honda. Both of them were till now in higher end segments so it really didnt matter . Now that they are trying to penetrate the real India the game begins for them.
