Default Skoda Clutch Campaign 2010

Skoda has launched some sort of a service campaign for the clutch.
More information at: ?koda Auto - Clutch Campaign 2010

Have been reading a lot on clutch wear on the laura tsi. A seperate campaign to offer clutch service/replacement options might just indicate that the problem is pervasive.

In a way, Skoda also joins the 'Recall' bandwagon!
Looks like the entire auto industry is going the 'China' way - chasing low costs even at the cost of quality

This is just a special rate for the clutch change, which is required every 30-60K kms depending upon usage.

The offer is good, But i had changed my flywheel a few months earlier itself (in case of auto) so did not go for it.

They may still make it available.

They have mentioned:
Quote:
Always drive no more than about one length of your vehicle in first gear
How is that practical in heavy city traffic ?

Skoda clutch for Manual boxes can last for about 100-120 K kms, if driven with care. I have an Octavia 1.9 Tdi , driven about 75 kms still running on the OE clutch.
I tried to avail the ' discounted Clutch offer' at TAFE Bangalore; but according to the service adviser mine would very well last for another 50- 60 kms, if driven the same way.
