oh boy. What a lip-smacking pricing by Ford.

Now I am in utter confusion. My heart has been craving for Punto E+ MJD, but my mind is pointing towards Figo.

7K is very optimistic. Anything above 3k is good!

Its great to hear that 80% of the parts are cheaper and durable than Swift. Ford has done a wonderful job here. The team that worked should be very proud of this.

Any info on the kind of numbers Ford is expecting/wishing for for the first few months?
Yes, March expectation is 4000-5000 ( thats what i heard)

Mustang - do please keep an eye out for any information of Employee discounts.

I dont want to book one and realize later that there was a discount.

4-5k is reasonable and achievable too with some smart marketing. If Ford can sustain 3k+ for 4-5 months, Figo can lead or be close to Swift by end of this year.

Titanium Diesel Figo Rs. 5,29,900
Trendline Diesel Polo - Rs. 5,42,000
Seeing Figo's price, going for a Polo looks foolish

Yes, 80-85% of all spares of petrol will be more cost effective than the i10
& 80-85% of all spares of diesel will be cheaper & more durable than the swift
But will this hold true for all the similar engined brothers? If yes then

the ford TDCI engine is better than the MJD in punto.

the car has the best chilling AC. (india is a damn hot country)

best handling. ride quality. space. biggest boot. what else can u ask for. it even has blue tooth capabilities other than taking calls. (for example it can stream songs from an A2DP enabled phone) plus the music system has RDS capabilities. awesome!!

the pricing is great!

one question to mustang.101! --or whoever can answer.

what is anti drip wiping??

Beautiful pricing!
I see some very positive and some negative points from this pricing:
Positive:
- This is going to give Ford a chance to change its 'expensive' image
- Perfect pricing for a souped up 1.6 S variant soon - Ford please!
- Cheaper spares for the fiesta TDCi and Ikon TDCi? Expected!
- A cheaper fiesta variant to replace the Ikon once the new fiesta (2011 model) debuts? Looks like it.

Some negatives -
- Fiesta sales will be hit, till they reduce prices. Good for new buyers, bad for current owners as resale suffers (not that I see anyone selling it off so soon)

Now once the sales settle down, and Ford is happy with the sales, I really hope they launch an A/T and a hot hatch variant of the Figo.
Even the Ikon's 1.3L Rocam engine would be good (but ford please please launch the 1.6!)
Also, a hot hatch in diesel would be good as well (A diesel S? I would buy one!)
And the A/T has to be there in the diesel specially. FE and practicality - an indian consumer's dream!

Hi: There wouldnt be much of damage for Fiesta. It is selling ~2000 per month now. The sedan buyers would anyway go for sedan. Other usecase is both Swift and Dzire are selling in similar numbers.
