The suspension upgrade is welcome,as Corolla always had a bumpy ride quality. But it all matters as to how good is the new suspension set-up.
These are just minute changes. But they will make a huge difference when a prospective buyer is on a lookout for a VFM vehicle in that range.
And also,Toyota will be launching the Corolla Altis soon.Really soon.

YAWN!

Another "new" car from the Japanese stable. Now lets wait for people to blindly form a line outside toyota dealers to buy this "new" car. How much longer are these companies going to take people for a ride and more importantly how much longer are people going to allow these companies to take them for a ride?

I think Altis has a different rear end. Ones you see in Singapore are Altises.

The Altis is the Corolla variant sold in South and South East asia, and I think the variant we have in India is the Altis. At least the old Corolla looked like the old Altis in KL.

I may have mixed up the names, but this was the one I was refering to. If you look at the side sillouette you will realize that is the same car. Interior is much nicer too. Have seen this in Colombo.

What you've shown in those pics is the new Corolla as it is sold in the rest of the world. The Altis is the one sold in South / South East Asia, though some of the markets have both models sold side by side (Corolla and Corolla Altis as the higher end model).

For the Indian Corolla, did Toyota knock on Tatas doors asking for alloy wheels? They look identical to those on the Indigo SXI

Well,
the Corolla looks much nicer but i doubt there is any change in the suspension.
But if there is, then 1 whole major flaw is eliminated. The only one reason i am pissed of with the car.

If every report on the new Toyota says that the suspension damping have been revised to give a better ride, is there are specific reason for you to doubt it?

That's right, american corolla is similar to the indian one and is known as Corolla Altis in some markets. The other corolla or the 'non Altis' is sold in certain markets with minor differences.

In Europe there is a Corolla hatchback with an optional diesel.
