So the price range is expected to be between 6.25 - 7.5 ...
The 1.6 Petrol with Duratech engine .... and the 1.4 Crdi ....

Any comments on Ford's Crdi engines ? I have no idea ...
also, does 1.4 seem enough ?

The Hindu Link,

http://www.hindu.com/2005/09/29/stor...2904131900.htm

"Ford Fiesta will be an additive and complement the Ikon.'' this is what Ford says.

This Car looks far better than the Fiesta photos we saw in this thread!

Team BHP'ns were correct in suggesting that the car would compete with the NHC.Great Job Guyz(I thought it would compete with Octavia/Corolla/Optra).Well is this one a mini Mondeo(at least to look at)?
One more question how many of you are going to postponse your decision to buy the NHC ?

I think they'll keep only the 1.3 and drop the price well under 5L to compete against the likes of Indigo. How many generations old is the Esteem? m800? Dosent seem to matter to the market as long as the price is right.

Does anyone knows how good are the Ford Durotorq Engines.?
How does it compare with the accent CRDI?

Why did Honda drop the OHC? Why did Toyota drop the Qualis? They would be strong sellers even now if they were available. I'm not saying the Ikon won't sell, I'm just sad that Ford, along with most of the others, don't have enough respect for the Indian market, and consequently, for us, and simply palm off a 3 generation old vehicle at a low price.

auto makers are here to make business & make profit

The car looks a little dumpy if you ask me. I want some decent looks if I were to drop 6-7 lakhs on a car.
Cant wait to hear more about the engine, though!!! The car looks better than the NHC.

what a bummer !! how i wished they didnt launch the fiesta ..
we already have a fiesta (ikon) in the indian market ..
it'll be a hugeee flop unless their diesel does wonders by performing better than the CRDi's ..i dbout it'll have anything better to overthrow NHC and the optra 1.6 in that segment..who buys ford anyways ?

ford is a less preferred brand in india ..if you ask around a bit in your relations abroad not too many will suggest a ford either ..
in india ..ford is selling enough to keep things moving same worldwide .. except for the mustang i dont see another ford vehicle become a craze ..but then mustangs not a car which everyone can buy ...

please i didnt mean to offend ford owners here but they dont quite have it going their way certainly not in the indian market ..

Don't agree with that, depends on what you are looking for in a car and at what price point, but to each his own........................
