Works all the time.

Enough Power? Power is not measured theoretically (I mean it is, but it is not 'felt'). You have to drive the car to feel the power. Hence i advice everyone that they should test drive all cars that they have in mind prior to purchasing and not just go on what is written or disclosed in the brochures. Like Top gear also says, "True Power is not measured in BHP"

Or if I change suddenly to the left lane, the car might turn more than expected? I request Mustang.101 to help me understand this part please
Since wind is already wanting to change your direction and effecting your steering, it would do so even when you wan't to change lanes. Since you were being compensated by PDC (Pull Drift Compensation) while you were going straight, you are also compensated by the PDC while changing lanes rapidly or when making any other rapid movements.

It would be scary if the car had all the power but not the requisite handling. I feel that the 90bhp engine would more than suffice for Indian conditions. Apart from that drivability is what is most important.

You are right in one way, but imagine you have a great handling car with not enough power. What is the use of it? I drive a TDCi Fusion, which has good handling capabilities, but many times i have felt that the car is underpowered. I have many times wished to have a Verna Engine under its bonnet. This has led me to believe that a great handling car is not much of a use unless it has a great engine and Vice Versa.

Guys would highly appreciate any information on the top end petrol version's airbag options. What are the chances of curtain airbags being available ?

Only 2 airbags would be standard throughout the range. No change for the top end version too.

(Either Overdrive or ACI, I'll try to post the picture of this article if someone needs it) Such is the importance of Handling boss
There is no denying the fact that Handling is important. But the point is you need to have a good punch to complement it. So it the combination of Performance and handling that is necessary. Instead of picking a car that is average in performance and excellent in handling (PUNTO 1.2) I will choose Swift which is good in both aspects. BTW can we have the Swift vs Figo test?

You are right
All power + No Handling = Scary (Verna 1.5)
No Power + All Handling = Boring (Linea 1.3)
No power + No Handling = Joke (Corolla 1.4)
All power + All Handling = Fun (T-Jet / VentoD / Fiesta P?)

Well that depends if you guys can launch Fiesta before my Vento is delivered. But I do you think The Fiesta Diesel can be a match for the Vento's Firepower? I am sure you must have driven both.

He should be talking about the Corolla Altis 1.4L Diesel with 88PS. For a million rupees it is indeed a joke.

My guess is that, the Fiesta 1.6 Tdci would have a 0-100 timing of 13-14 seconds, which isn't something exemplary, but still it cannot be classified as a sluggish car by any means. So with entertaining handling, it might very well be a fun to drive car.

Thats a good one.

I was just wondering about a sort of wierd thing. If we put the launches of Ford in order and check out the sequence of the success/not so great sucess models. Where would the new fiesta's probability of being a success stand.

- (forgot the name)
- Ikon
- Mondeo
- Fiesta
- Fusion
- Endeavor
- Figo

(P.S : I know its a stupid way of checking out the success probability But just came to my mind and hence posting)

With all due respect sir, isn't the above statement little too exagerated and harsh! Genuinely, I don't think Linea 1.3 MJD is 'Boring'? Yes I definitely agree, It would have been much exciting if it had the charecteristics of the T-Jet, and I do agree that such a wonderful chassis deserves a better motor. But honestly, only about 10% of the time on the road, you miss that extra punch and most of the time, i think its sufficient. Sorry for being OT. But my point is, you never know how good or bad the car is unless you take a testdrive, and 90Bhp would more or less suffice for 90% of the times.
