You are absolutely right. Unless and untill such companies are severely penalised they would not learn their lessons. Its time that they treat a customer with respect and understand their troubles instead of giving them a bad product and then topping it up with equally bad service. Such fines would also compel them to research their producrs well before launching them in the market. It will also ensure that edequate supply of the required spare parts are available immediately.

God bless.

Default Stripping ... thats bad

Hi,

This is really a bad taste incident. Instead of fixing the problem, TATA motors went to do this nonsense act. The amount of parts changed in 2 years indicates that this vehicle was a junk one. Its a joke on the part of the dealer to not replace the vehicle.

Drag this issue to consumer court and let TATA reply to this. dont waste your time doing anything else. Consumer Court ... take them there, give your view, let them see it for themselves and you shoudl be able to walk out with a new vehicle in hand.

I think you have not read the entire thread. Varun has allready taken the case to the consumer court and is waiting for the verdict.

Default Thanks Rohit

Ya Rohit, I did not really read the whole thread. Am happy he has taken them to Court. They deserve that, and especially the dealers because they are the link between us and the company.

The car is continuing to keep up to its reputation of being a lemon. The Problems just does'nt seem to end .

# Both the front seat belts do not retract and keep dangling when they are unhooked.
# The gear shifter Knob has broken.
# the leather wrap steering wheel as claimed by Tatas in their brochure is made of synthetic materiel and has started to melt. It sticks to your hand like chewing gum.
# The plastic trim of the front RH Lumbar support seat, which was broken by the dealers technicians has been out of stock since 3 months. I understand that the said part is not available seperately and comes along with the seat assy. The dealer wanted to replace this from their personal vehicle. Needless to say I refused to accept that. They are in their endless process of procuring a new one.

The most attentive and pleasant person, Mr prashanth, Service Manager of Manipal Motors has resigned. Anyway, I am glad about it as he deserves to be in a better place.

So long....

The 'leather wrap' is never leather, no matter from which manufacturer. Unless the car is a premium car. Just as we say 'art leather'.

I have been seeing the availability status of parts - the regularly used parts are the ones they normally have. For others, it sometimes takes weeeeks to get the part. eg: my RH roof a/c trim.

Was at the service station last week for my second service. Saw a black 2004 GX Turbo that had done 70K. The guy said they get about 16 kmpl, with a/c. Surprised about this.

Art leather is the short form of Artificial Leather. I don't agree with you on that count. Leather means Genuine Natural Leather unless it has a prefix like "Art" or Snythetic. When the say that the car comes with leather seats does it mean Non-natural leather. No way, I would buy that. This is how we Indians are taken for a ride by their cleverly manipulated words and we give in so easily to their b******t.

There are many Victa GX TC users who are getting the type of mileage you have mentioned here. I have a complete list of such people who are willing to come to the court as witnesses to substantiate my claim of poor mileage. In fact, in my letter to the CEO, Manipal Motors and Ratan Tata, I have indicated that a list of such people can be provided to them on request. They were even reluctant to do a mileage test on one such car even when the owner was kind enough to let them have his vehicle for the test. Deep down they all know that my car is lemon, but want to prove it otherwise.

So long....

The way people try to push art leather and italian leather as genuine leather ..

Just done my 2nd service, and yet to confirm any increases in FE in my GX TC, though it is looking better than before. Will let you know how it goes. And if I can help you, pls do let me know.

Italian leather is genuine natural leather of a very fine and flexible quality.Because of its breathing qualities it has the ability to absorb sweat and are very cool unlike the synthetic ones.

Thanks for your concern. Please collect all details from similar model victa users whenever you meet them at workshop, shopping malls etc. Take their visiting cards/phone numbers. This way we can create a Data bank of all are friends and their woes. You will be surprised to note that most of them did not know that their lumbar support seats were broken.

Varun, I have a question for you? what do you do for the losses that you may have suffered after filing this case. Since its almost seven months from that time I am sure many more visits to the workshop and further replacements would have cost you considerable amount of time and money. What about the loss incurred due to low FE ? Can you claim these expenses and if yes, how ? I am sure the delay in the Judgement must be putting additional burden on you.

God bless.

OT, the 'italian leather' I was told about wasnt even as expensive as the g-sport art leather. Hence the comment.

I have been thinking about it for some time now, so I decided to call Mr. Arun Saxena to find out exactly where I stand on the issue.

He has asked me to submit an additional application to claim all the expenses I have incurred during this period. I have not spent anything much on the replacements because of the extended warranty. I am loosing a substantial amount on running the car because of its low FE. But the major expenses is the renewal of my Insurance cover which amounts to Rs 11k and that too because of the 50% NCB. Shall be processing the application to claim a refund for these expenses.

So long....
