Looks like Chevy Cruze sales are improving. Well, in a way it's good ( resale value) and bad ( no discounts).

More than Figo, I guess it is the new Wagon R effect. Beat has now become Beaten

This is disappointing for GM as they are down to 8K from 10-11K they touched in Jan-April.

April May
Spark 3507 2812
Beat 3852 2296
Cruze 692 854
Tavera 1529 1418
Aveo 315 396
U-VA 529 312
Captiva 115 84
Optra 62 53

Looks like beat and spark are loosing out to the competition. I guess it is FIGO effect
Now that I own the cruze I dont want GM to offer discounts
Nice to see Cruze sales increasing significantly but after having dealt with 2-3 Chevrolet dealers all I can say is that they are very inconsistent.
One was way too pathetic and selling as if doing me a favour!!!!
The other dealer was very good and professional and infact the showroom's owner himself inspected the car and briefed me over it
GM needs to look into this field as customers often create the perception about the company from the outlook of dealers most of the time!!!

I am also wanting to see Hondas sales figures for May after their bad run over the past few months!!!

Ford India posts over three-fold jump in May sales

Ford at 8,080 units

Quote:
NEW DELHI: Carmaker Ford India on Tuesday reported an over three-fold jump in sales during the month of May to 8,080 units on the back of a good response for its latest small car, Figo.

The company sold 2,168 units during the same month last year, Ford India said in a statement.

Figo already has over 20,000 bookings in the last two-and-a-half months. The company now plans to start a second production shift at its Chennai facility from July to meet demand for the hatchback, it added.

"We have achieved more than 20,000 bookings since launch and are happy to see more and more Ford Figos gaining visibility and presence on road," Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham said.

The Chennai facility has a production capacity of one lakh units, which is now being increased to two lakh units as part of the company's $500 million investment plan. The facility also has a capacity to produce 2.5 lakh engines per annum.

Figo seems to be going good. Can we have a breakup of the petrol vs diesel.

Beats jazzy looks seems to be a hit with youngster but its not a practical car thats the reasons the sales are not progressing well.

Fiat Punto/Linea sales are heading south, looks like nothing seems to be working well with Fiat.

Nothing seems to be slowing/stopping the Maruti jagurnaut.

Moderators :can we have a May 2010 Sales thread + the excel sheet
