Guys.. when do you think the excel sheet will be up? I think its a more convenient way of looking at the figures as it gives the scenario at one go. Thanks.

And look at the Corolla vs. Civic figures. Toyota is really giving Honda a run for their money across all segments eh!

Honda sells 3,656 cars compared to 6002 of Toyota.
Market Propensity to consume (buy) Honda City cars is going down drastically. Can we expect an upgrade or are we going to get "Discounts on Honda!!!"

If you look at the last year April 09, the numbers are not too low. I was checking with sales guys i know in the field, April is usually a slow month and its not amazing that the city sales are low. I think people are probably getting over the shock of getting paltry hikes hence not buying cars
Its better to look at a month YOY than compare with previous months as car buying is a seasonal activity for sure.
On a side note- quite interesting to note that looks as if more people on TBHP are concerned at Fiats sales falling than the FIAT guys themselves!!!!

When I went to a VW dealership last week, even before I spoke a word, I was handed over pamphlets for the Polo. Maybe my helmet 'gave it away', that I could not buy a costlier car. But that is certainly not the right attitude.
My experience was exactly opposite as yours though I was dressed up as casually (read lousy) as I could, yet was properly attended.
Their attitude in your case might be arising out if the fact that they might be fed up with attending irate customers who have already placed orders & are chasing the dealership like greyhounds (quite justifiable after they they have paid their hard-earned money to the dealer).

You are right, but I expect that the YOY to fall, especially in the wake of launch of VW Vento & Toyota Etios. Though the fall in April-10 numbers can also be attributed to seasonal variations.

Disappointing to see Punto not making good sales. I definitely think its about th perception of th brand in India. I have been driving it for about 6 months nw, about 15,000 kms and it is a mighty good car.
And this whole noise about the plastics is basless. yes it might not have th finnesse an i-20 has but it is fairly ok.

How much is SX4 selling?

Anyone has details on SX4 sales?

Maruti cleverly packages Dzire and SX4 numbers into Midlevel sedan numbers. Does any one know the actual numbers?

Fiat is able to offset the lesser no of their car sales with their MJD engines, otherwise they would have left India long back.
