OUCH ! 100 PS? I thought we were to expect about 110 BHP, or atleast as much as the OHC Vtec. At 9 Lacs on the road......OHC Vtec owners rejoice.

So much for the fire breathing monster some were expecting this to be

My friend has already booked one, expecting delivery on 30th October. You guys can expect a first hand review almost immediately. Though he quoted Rs. 7.28 lakhs ex-showroom. Will have to look at that again.

Disappointed? I am a little.

Hehe the OHC vtec still lives on then...any idea about the revlimit? max power is at 5800rpm...so i really doubt if it has 7100rpm redline like on the old vtec.

And if thats the case, you bet im disappointed.

Dissapointed? Majorly -
175/70R14 tyres on cheap alloys? VTEC owners will have to upgrade as it is.
100 BHP with no change in suspension. Looks like if it beats the old VTEC it will only be in a straight line.
Honda should have given 15 inch alloys, firmer suspension, more power.
It is not worth the extra 84K. Owners should get the GXi model, put the aluminium panels, get better alloys and tyres from outside, get a Full Performance Kit (K n N) from outside, a freeflow and a body kit.
Now that would be something more like it.
But apart from the VTEC, car looks better and now it has an Alpine music systm to o with it.
ABS/SRS Airbags? If not standard, an option would be nice. Specially on the VTEC.

Im not surprised Honda played it safe here. The car will have people being chauffered around and then when they are asked arre NHC liya ? the proud answer will be - its the top most variant , more power !

The alloys are really umm...sad looking , the engine is only 100 BHP posterior looks better , front almost similar, .......I would get the CVT Gxi if i had the choice.

At the price at which it is launched, Optra 1.6 would make a much better choice.

Also if the OHC Vtec costed 90000 more than the 1.5 EXI
and if at that time the price was justified for 6hp more, alloys, spoiler
then now for 84000, honda is giving 23hp more , alloys , beige interiors, different dials, new front grille, bumper, fog lamps, read fog lamps, music system with MP3 and cassette playback.( audio sys on the GXI is only cassette I guess ).

Ps :90% buyers buy cars not for revving it till the redline. Hence this factor does not count as far as the sales figures are concerned. That is what the company should be concerned with.

I dont think it will even perform similar to the OHC 1.5 standard due to the penalty of the extra weight and tuning for FE.

I liked the new design though. Looks better than before. Good move honda.

I have not seen the car yet, from what it looks it is just a make over to accomodate the Vtec!!

The Honda - Malaysia Web page did have a mention about a totally new dash, 60:40 spit seats and multi-way rear seat setup...

somehow i'm not able to see this on the ZX.

The Alpine CD/MP3 Player is something new i noticed...

It looks like the Vtech will have a new color (the old blue variant). Apart from the Engine and the Alloys is there any difference between the Gxi and Vtech?
