Why not? the top of the line i20 sells for 8 odd lakhs.

Anyways a lot depends on where they position the new Verna & also how loaded it comes, nobody expected the i20 to do well because of its high price. I know this is a different segment but with right features & correct price they may pull it off again.

To some extent yes, but the 12L segment is pretty competitive with very established brands like the Altis and Civic. Who would prefer a the Verna over an Altis?

If Hyundai do price it at a premium, then it will be a case of 'selling well initially and losing later'.

See I agree that 12L for Verna seems very high but look at where things stand - As of today both the Altis & Civic are above the 12L range, they are more in the 14L range now. Also The Verna sells on 8-9L segment already, if they load it with features & get good engines they can easily push the price by a lakh or two making 10L-11L car, the 12L variant may be the fully loaded one with Safety equipments &/or Automatic.
