Can we close this thread till some concrete info comes up?

I keep on checking this thread with no heads-up. Once somebody has some concrete info, he can report it to the moderators and they can open up this thread again for discussion.

My two cents

Guess this thread is now running on speculations on launch date and another dimension would be on the price.

It is very premature to know the pricing now without MS coming out with the launch plan.

Cheers!

Here's another pic from Indianautosblog
If this isn't a rendering, I take back my earlier words. The whole exercise looks plain stupid. In less than 4m I can imagine the leg space it can provide at the rear.

As if the current gen dzire looks weren't ridiculed enough that they come up with this now. I'm sure all those who were alright with the pic on Page-2 would have something almost opposite to say after looking at this.

If you scan the picture from right to left it looks like the manufacturer fell short of material by the time he reached the rear door & boot. I understand that a CS version has to have a small boot but this doesn't look very neat.

This is just a rendering, though may be close to the production car.

For proof, I'm attaching the original image from: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...s-pg-15-a.html (Gen2 Suzuki Swift, EDIT:Caught testing in India, Pics on Pg.15). Just compare the drivers. Even the image given on the Autocar magazine cover also is just a rendering from this image. Only the image tagged 'Autocar scoop' is original.

Thats definitely a rendering! See how unnatural the rear looks.

Heard Hormazd mention on the Autocar show that it would be launched in the Auto-expo next year in January.

If the real car looks anything like the rendering, I feel sorry for the original designers of the Swift (i.e., the one without the boot). Not enough that you spoil a cool looking car by attaching an ugly boot, then you cut short the boot to leave an ugly stub! The headlamps are longer than the boot. Whatever happened to proportions!!

Wouldn't the CS Dzire be a better handler than the current one?
The current Dzire has some misbehaviour from the boot/ rear if you throw it into corners, though not as much as the Manza.

The small boot + more reclined seats(compared to Swift)+similar P-T-W ratio could be a winning formula for an all rounded Hatchback+, for people who want a better rear seat and almost hatchback like Driving Dynamics.

Thumbs down Re: Next gen Swift Dzire is <4 meter length

The side profile, especially the PS rendering makes it look quite an oddity! Instead, that stub-tail could have been altered into a continuous curved notchback end. Could have then pulled off the design. This Stub Tail Dzire appears to be yet another opportunity lost for Maruti!

Anyone for the kind of designs shown in http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...autiful-3.html (A change in Swift Dzire A-pillar design will make it beautiful) ?

Wouldn't that make it look like i20, polo or punto?

Hope the boot space of the upcoming Dezire would be bigger than the i20! Else it would be free advertising for the i20, for having more boot space than a Sedan as Maruti would be calling it

I am desperately waiting for the New Swift. I might just give in to the pressure and buy the current one. Any vague idea on how much price difference there would be?

If it is anything close to 50K, I will probably skip it 'coz I am already stretching my budget to 5.5 lacs for the current model and that's the max I can spend.

What so you guys suggest? Shall I go with the current one or wait for the new one?
