Probably a diesel Etios after selling off the SX4 Zxi. I am getting jacked due to the petrol prices and 2000km+ running per month in that car.

My other vehicle should be there for many many years :-)

Wonderful thread GTO & thanks to all those who have contributed here, made an interesting read, all these 57 pages. The new car bug keeps biting me often, but current financial situation holds me back, not that I don't have the moolah, but priorities are different now.

Current car - Indica DLX, 2004, 105K kms
Intend to keep till 150K kms or 10 years (ie mid 2014), whichever is earlier (likely to reach 150K kms earlier)

Next car - As like any average Indian, I was contemplating on upgrading to a sedan from a hatch. However the upcoming small to mid size SUVs are likely to steal the show

Top of the list is the Ford Ecosport followed by the Renault Duster. Since I am in no hurry, I should get sufficient time to study the market & on road performance of both these vehicles & make an informed decision.

Current Car: Maruti Zen
Likes: Everything - Peppy engine, good mileage, comfortable drive.
Dislikes: Lack of space for a family.

Next Car: I am a family man now; Either the Ertiga or the XUV or Mini Xylo

Current car - 2002 OHC VTEC.
Dad just acquired a 8 year old Esteem that we intend to use as daily runabout car.

Next car has to be a SUV for me. A diesel, automatic seven seater with 4X4 or AWD. Automatic and 4X4 is not a necessity but will be added advantage. Have not yet shortlisted a car. Will purchase this towards year end 2012. HAve my eyes on anything from New Safari Storme to the 4X2 AT Fortuner. Even a second hand Pajero is on possible list.

I intend to keep the VTEC for long time. Its 85k km on the clock now. May be some serious mod jobs on the VTEC after 2-3 years.

Daily Runabout car: Suzuki Swift VDI 2009
Family car for intercity trips: Innova VX 2010 (diesel)

I wouldn't be changing the Innova anytime soon, intend to keep it for another 4-5 years.
I might change the swift in 12-18 months for another swift diesel.
I absolutely love swift's diesel powerplant and driving dynamics and haven't had as much fun driving any other car in that segment.

Cant say right now. It will purely depend on the budget when i will buy the car after 2-3 years. I would love to buy SUV like XUV 500 but if budget dont permit then i will go for car like Ertiga - Diesel. I need car which will fit more than 5 people.

Lets hope for the best. If some good Mini SUV is available, i may buy that also

Talking Re: Your Next Car?

Current: Skoda Laura Elegance bought Mar 2011.

Next (should I say getting next Monday!!): Pajero SFX 2.8!

Next, Next: Ambassador Mark I or II in a year or two. Any recommendations from fellow TBhian's on availability would be great. Even if the engine is not in great condition - I am fine...since - I will be doing a engine swap, add a/c, etc., But the exterior will look exactly the same as it came out from factory. Any suggestions/ recommendations on car/ mechanic - would be great.

Next, Next, Next: BMW 3 or 5 series few years down the line which will replace Laura!

I currently have a 2007 Verna. Next would definately be a SUV, either XUV 500 or Skoda Yeti.

Currently i own a Dzire VDI. But safari bug is disturbing me for quite some time. So it will be a new safari LX if TATA retains the production of the current safari for a year atleast. if TATA stops production then it will be a good used safari and definitely not a storme, I did not like storme for some reason.
