I agree with your statement wholeheartedly, however being a car sketcher yourself, you would know that the designers of this category are usually not only limited by the lateral and longitudinal dimensions but the uncompromising need for having the vertical limits similar to the Jag, if not more.

Now do a simple Horizontal stretching of even the sx4 (obviously keeping the wheels circular not oblong), you can probably see a much better looking car. Thats the trick "H" and Ford plays to some extent with the Verna and Fiesta ads!

My maruti service advisor confirms that the sedan is due for a Jan 2008 release. Maybe he got this info from tBHP...LOL.

Saw about the swift sedan in this weeks edition of the Car & Bike Show on NDTV . They also came up with a picture which has been doing rounds on several forums . They confirmed its arrival Jan next year

if the car we see in the pictures is truly the one on it's way to India then it's gonna bomb..
it looks like a boot job done in a hurry..

that's really stupid.. they'll end up lowering the loyalty they enjoy right now..

they'd rather bring in the 1.6 Sport and strengthen their brand equity!..

I think the blogger doesn't know that Maruti-Suzuki don't have 1.5L engines (Correct me if I am wrong).

There is a 1.5cc petrol swift hatch available here in this region for a premium with auto gearbox.

Better close the thread as it seems no one could find even a test mule till today in this forum. This is a good reason to doubt the very existence of a swift sedan. There is a chance that Liana sedan can be brought here and named swift but what is the strategy? who they want to attack?
