Usually housing money gets redirected to gold or FDs.
Might be times are changing...

Can't think of any other reason than FIGO.
Everybody expected Figo to eat into Swift sales, but that hasn't happened.

Yeah.. There are some issues with the component suppliers capacity sharing with some other OEM's. Will be sorted out very soon.

GTO - You have done a bad thing that you set the bar very high by getting the figures and posting it on first day of the month itself. Now, we expect the performance to be repeated every time just like Sachin Tendulkar

LOL, you consider Scorpio as an MUV??? if you feel its not a "proper" SUV, why are safari & CRV included in SUVs then???

and Bolero falls in the category of Gypsy & Trax?

My ole Ma always tells me you can't please everyone!

Well, in all honesty I do consider Safari and CR-V as SUV's- where else would you slot them? Scorpio isn't exactly an SUV-c'mon! It's like a heavily modded Jeep at best .

Reg Bolero, I am not very familiar with that segment, so in the words of GTO, "you guys run the analysis yourself"!

Ohh, so you consider CRV to be a better off roader than the Scorpio. Regrading the scorpio being a heavily modded jeep, why dint you slot it into "jeeps" then?

Anyways, no debates. your analysis... your perspective!

After Hyundai's Disastrous try of comparing/Competing Getz with Swift, no manufacturer wants to pitch a vehicle directly against swift. Ford realized it and priced it to pitch against the newer launches i.e. Ritz, Beat and A-star price zone.

Kudos to Hyundai team to come up with a new product "I20" in a short time span of 4 years which replaced Getz; Although looking at pricing even Hyundai Did not dared to price this in the same range as swift. Pretty neat planning.

By the way, after the news on the TATA Indica Vista Refresh, we probably can relate to the lesser numbers due to the model change/refresh.

Audi numbers are pending to finish off the Stats of the month of September 2010.

Absolutely amazing by BMW, esp the 3 considering now it's pretty much in it's last year of production. The 5, like i said months before it was launched it will outsell the E class always and month on month I'm being proved correct, and once the 520D variant is launched the E will see bloodbath unless MBIL make it more value by adding a ton of options.

How did X5 suddenly get such a boost? Facelift isn't the sole reason right? All in all it's amazing to see Mercedes & BMW get close to 700 units a month which was another prediction I made in the end of 2009 that this year both of them should see 5000+ sales in fact now I wonder if 6000 could also be in sight?

Audi as usual is lagging behind even though they had a fresher lineup when they entered and they love to bank on saying they were last to enter but that was only few months and the A4 and A6 at that time were much newer products then the competition, but well they are at about 300 units a month now and they think by 2015 they will be #1 in India which is not going to happen. (You can quote me on this that year) Nor is the new A8 going to help them much.

Any idea how JLR does in terms of sales? Also could we get Bentley & RR sales?

That's outright offensive talk about one of the best VFM SUVs on Indian roads. But I am not going to respond beyond this and pardon ignorance.

The link above shows the International Car Sales Projections for 2010 (at the bottom of the page). When they talk about Asia, they talk about China and India, in terms of car sales atleast. Obviously we dont have too many Indian manufactuers, as most of the sales hapen either from the Japanese/Korean or European Manufacturers.
Given that India is gaining prominence in terms of cars sold, I think its important that the manufacturers start focussing seriously on India or be left napping.
Check Chinas phenomenal growth post 2007. Really astounding! How the heck can they manage to keep it up?
