Assuming all new:
Honda Civic A/T [15.5 lakh]
RE Bullet CL 500 [1.5 lakh]
Nice 600 cc bike in the 5 - 6 lakh range (whenever available .. cmon Kawi)
Powerful hatch (diesel if possible but not necessary) ... amongst the current crop I'd pick the Swift.

I doubt I'd consider 2nd hand

The Linea T-Jet for the daily commute,
and a Yeti or Captiva for the weekends.

However new C 200 CGI with its diesel-beating torque, refinement, double-digit fuel efficiency and the three-pointed star image, is an enticing prospect!

@samtheleo

how do you plan to get the nightrod+xtrail?
or for that matter even the scorpio+corolla+nightrod?

the bike itself is for about 19 lacs. so all you are left with is 11 lacs to buy any other car.

my garage would be :
ducati 1198
laura 2.0 cr elegance

Voted for others.

My Rs. 30/- garage would be :

1) Toyota Innova. The one that is one the most practical cars around. Can haul family with comfort.

2) Hyundai i20 diesel. A small car for city driving, good enough power for highway driving and good grunt for overtaking.

3) A used Civic. This would be a car that is just for my personal use and its a car that is one of the better built Honda in India, has a sweet engine for open highways and beautiful handling. Ride and handling cannot be compared to European cars, but it would be good enough for me.

The ride and handling, in fact, is good enough to be compared to European cars IMO. What you can't compare is the build-quality, which is far better in European cars. Having said that, European cars are notorious when it comes to reliability issues where as that's the Civic's trump card!

Nice list!
