Elections.

Sales of Scorpio, Safari, Sumo, Bolero should also have risen drastically.

I doubt. A few may still go over to Linea, have seen it happening.

Another item is Linea maintains a monthly avg sales of around 1700. Which car these numbers are impacting & how much? We need to apply segment growth %age to each car, arrive at its expected sales (with growth) without Linea & then compare with actual sales.

Default Impact of Linea sales on Others

Did the above little excercise. Taken Vasudeva's March data file & compared March Figures with Nov'08 figures (when Linea was not there). For comparison, Linea is taken alongwith other C-Segment Mid-size cars (instead of D-Seg as per length).

All these cars put together, their total sales increased by 53% from Nov'08 to Mar'09. This 53% growth is then applied to each car individually to know the figures it should have actually achieved in Mar'09 had Linea not there. This expected figure is then compared with Actual Mar-09 fig of each car. Attached is the little worksheet.

Gypsy figures are at a high because of defense orders and NCC orders across the country. There was a drastically huge orders from defence.Linea has done wonders to every other TATA dealers balance sheets.Very good numbers and predicted that it would still go up after its presence is felt more on our roads.

Yes and quite surprisingly there is a marginal difference between sales of Spark and Estilo this time. UVA has done average nos. as well in a Swift dominated segment.

Honda was able to sell 2801 city in April 2009. I am eagerly waiting to see the sales figure for Linea. Keeping my finger cross, hope Linea sales figure should be near to City, if it couldnt outsell it.
