I don't think there's any difference between the Classic SXi & Non-Classic SXi Fiesta, instead both are same, even if you compare their details from their respective brochures, they'll also come out to be same(including dashboard, etc), even their prices are the same.
Ford have only re-specced the lower variants for Cost reasons, Nothing else.
Rest, I'll advice you to personally check out both of these cars to reveal the realities.

Hi CRtorquefan, the dealer told me that the non-classic Sxi comes with leather seats whereas the Classic does not. From your post I guess that is not true and both are the same. In that case I guess the Classic Sxi is a better buy as I'd get a newer car rather than one thats been sitting idle for a few months in the stock yard. Thanks.

What the dealer told about the non classic Ford Fiesta is true. I own one and can vouch that the non classic has leather interiors. As far as I can rmember, the classic does not have leather interiors.

Whether to buy the classic or non classic is your call. Mind you the non classic SXI was the top end model, if you consider the 'S' in its own league.

I am also considering the same but the dealer is offering me the Non-classic Sxi (apparently a 2011 make).

Not sure whether to go for it.. Can anyone please tell me what are the differences between a Classic Sxi and a non-Classic Sxi apart from the leather seats (which is in the non-classic) and the dash (which apparently is from the Figo for the Classic)?

Has the gear shift been changed? I understand the engines are the same 1.6 L Duratec ones and am assuming the suspension is the same as well..Is the non-classic Sxi a better buy over the classic Sxi? Thanks a bunch.
@nimz: I booked Honda City over the last weekend. the offer was simply too good to resist. What clinched it in addition to the fat discount was the need for safety features which is sorely missing in the non SXI versions. The SXI version of Fiesta Classic is still not available with the dealers.

If you are looking for a petrol why dont you have a look of the all new ford Fiesta, now after its revised price is looks very attractive. Even the base model gets ABS and airbags. Sure the Honda's engine is better but the Fiesta handles is something very special, chuck it around a corner and you will know for yourself. Its one of the best handling cars in the country today.

This is stupid pricing by Ford for such an old Model. The New Fiesta starts at a ex showroom price that is a little lower than this.

When you can buy a Fiat Linea T Jet Plus for Rs. 70'000 more, why bother with a mid variant Ford Fiesta Classic. Does not make sense.

I too had originally planned on the Classic. Dropped it the moment I heard the price for the SXI.

True. But this in my opinion has the diesel advantage and frankly, I felt its still well built compared to Toyota Etios which has its interior from Alto kinds(even worse than that by looks) and charges that premium which is just not acceptable.

Figo has not helped Fiesta on its spare parts price either :( Its still stands expensive IMO.

O.T: Had a drive in Nissan Sunny. Its seriously a very good car. Quality of interior is good and much much drive-able engine in all locale.

By miles.

Interesting. I thought the Fiesta is a cheap car to fix compared to the Ikon which was scary.

Completely forgot about this car. If you don't care about driving dynamics, the Nissan is indeed a better car than the Fiat Linea.

Just an update: Took delivery of Fiesta classic clxi 1.4 tdci - paparika red. On road Madurai 8.38lacs. 5k discount.

Bit on the higher side compared to its age but has something still left going for it.

Oh boy, its damn good to drive! Top speed, ya it starts screaming but nice otherwise. Thought of changing the apollo accelere 175/65-R14 to a better rubber. Got a good deal of exchanging it for better makes by paying an additional 4k for 185's but then backed as mostly it will be used by my father and the steering is already a little bit heavy compared to Maruti's and it dint have much of road noise either. Car will be used mostly on highways and rural roads and so further soft compound tyres are a no no.

Sound insulation is really good, just realized when i had to roll down the glass for paying the toll fee. Toyota etios is very bad on this again, can literally hear everything inside from outside and vice versa.

Audio system is decent enough compared to other OE's i have heard. Will try to start a thread with pictures. :-)

The Ford Classic erstwhile FIESTA is getting another makeover and will come with an even lower price tag thatís about Rs. 70,000 lower.
DWS auto says that the present Classic SXi is priced at Rs. 8.49 lakh ex-showroom Delhi for the diesel and Rs. 7.52 lakh for the petrol SXi and there could be up to Rs. 70,000 off on these top-end trims making the diesel Titanium available for an ex-showroom price of Rs. 7.7 lakh, while the petrol could get a price tag of Rs. 6.75 lakh or so.
Good news !!!! adds to the confusion of "what car" though

I read @IAB that Ford Classic has ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 32.38kpl. That is really shocking.

If this is real, then its really worth buying. It will be cheaper to run than my 180 cc Pulsar then. It is ARAI certified, so i guess it cant be just a advertisement trick. On highways it will surely give 30 mileage. That is really a awesome average to get by any car.
