Sorry if this has been answered before. I could not find it.

What is the difference in performance parameters when comparing the fiesta 1.6s and the fiesta classic 1.6 titanium?

thanks

thanks

As mayankk said, a slightly harder suspension (apparently an extra loop was added into the spring to give it more hardness) & 15 inch alloys.

From a mechanical standpoint those are the only changes. Identical engine, identical state of ECU tune, don't believe any source that says otherwise.

Appearance wise - body kit (side skirts and spoiler), different seat fabric and dash colour (a dark blue, called coral blue I believe).

Also, the rear seats in the 1.6S don't have a 60:40 split.

Following are different in the 1.6S

1. The Springs are harder (dampers are same as the Classic Fiesta)
2. Steering rack is different to handle the wider rubber
3. ECU map is different

The 1.6S is faster than the Classic Fiesta in the 0-100 as well!

Comparing the Swift D service cost(http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/offici...ml#post3094088 (Maruti Swift : Test Drive & Review)), it seems Ford is a VFM car!

Today's TOI bangalore edition ad for classic special edition.
Nice, considering these stuff from titanium variant are being offered in CLXi:
. front fog lamps
. alloys
. spoiler
. premium seat covers (leather?)
. front chrome grille
. reverse parking sensor (not part of titanium?)

Yesterday, Ford India put out an advertisement in certain prominent Indian newspapers, announcing a Limited Edition version of the Classic sedan. The Classic sedan (essentially a re-badged and re-positioned, previous generation Fiesta) continues to outperform its replacement model, the new Fiesta, in terms of monthly sales. In re-positioned form, the car now does duty as Ford India's entry level sedan in the C-Segment space.

To make the car more appealing, Ford has added an accessory pack to the Classic sedan. The Classic equipped with the accessory pack, is what's being bandied about as the "Limited Edition" model. Team-BHP contacted Ford India's dealers to confirm the existence of the Limited Edition model, only to be told that it was an accessory pack that could be added to all three variants of the Classic.

We went on to confirm the same with the Ford customer support team, who while confirming the existence of the accessory pack chose to put the ball back in the dealer's court, when it came to pricing, details and availability of the accessory pack. Ford dealers in Bangalore claim that the accessory pack, minus the alloy wheels costs about 30,000 rupees.

For that amount, a Classic buyer can add seat covers, a chromed front grille, a rear spoiler, a chrome handle for the boot lid, fog lamps, and reverse parking sensors. Alloy wheels and the seat height adjust options are already available as standard on the Titanium variant of the Classic with the seat height adjust being available as standard even on the CLXi trim.

So, the actual accessory pack consists of the six items specified above. This accessory pack can also be added to the base LXi trims of the Classic sedan. Notably, existing dealer discounts available on the Ford Classic mean that the accessory pack is available at no extra cost to the car buyer.

The Ford Classic sedan is available with two engine options: a 1.6 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine (100 Bhp-146 Nm) and a 1.4 Liter turbo diesel engine (68 Bhp-160 Nm). The car is known for its reassuring build, excellent driving dynamics and responsive engines. Dated looks (the car is the previous generation Fiesta) and a rear seat on which three adults are a squeeze, are the notable downsides of the car. In nutshell, the Ford Classic is a viable sedan option for driving enthusiasts on a budget. Prices start at 5.99 lakh rupees for the petrol base variant and 7.26 lakh rupees for the diesel base variant.

Yes Jay. And this is truly the sedan. The other sedans in it's class are hatches with a trunk attached as a tail. It is really good in terms of drivability, handling, size, look, engine power, braking etc. Many people simply love this car and thats the reason why it still outperforms (in terms of sales) its little sister, the new Fiesta.

I have observed, the only concern people have while taking the decision in favour of Classic is its dated look and dated model. Some think that Ford India may discontinue the model as it has become old.

I like this car.

Red face Re: Ford Classic Limited Edition: What it is all about

Limited edition is not something new to the Classic nor with Ford India. There used to be a joke around that Ford used to sell the earlier Fiesta more in the limited editions than the normal ones which to a great extent was true.

Ford is continuing the trend with the Classic too as it wants to do away with the inventory through the limited editions considering that its hard in the present conditions to sell the sedans when even their only selling hatch Figo is also plagued with dropping sales numbers. The difference between the petrol and diesel entry variants is what surprises me a lot.

The car is a gem of a vehicle and having driven one, I would say the pleasure was unmatchable with any other sedan. Truly a drivers car.

Plus one to both the statements above. But I wonder when Ford will get over its 'limited editions' obsession.

They dug their own grave while pricing the new Fiesta. Let us hope better sense prevails on them with the Ecosport.

Completely agree that this is one well sorted out car. Would not think twice to recommend this sedan to a potential buyer albeit its dated looks.

Both the motors are smooth and refined and very driveable. Ford should come up clear if they will continue the model in the future since many decisions are based on the fact that it might be extinct very soon.

The other thing that they can do is offer another facelift to keep the excitement going and also reiterate that they are backing this model than just some cosmetic limited editions.

Ford did it earlier too on the Figo with a celebration edition to commemorate the three years of the launch. The edition as a pack was made available then. Not much cars were seen on the roads with the celebration stickering.
