Regards,
I think S Class was not mentioned, because the mighty one got beaten by A8 for the first time in India . Here is what Mercedes have declared:

Total cars sold in Feb'11: 662
C Class: 362!
E Class : 230
GL Class: 23
R & M Class: 27
Others (which should include the now humbled S class): 662 - 642 = 20

rrsteer,

Are you sure about your statement? I am not doubting you but the point is firstly A8 sold 31 cars and S-Class has always mostly been selling in 50+ numbers and suddenly I am sure A8 will not make it out of the list for Mercedes-Benz.

The others you refer to is mostly about niche models like SLK, CLS, SL and various AMG models and S-Class even in a single digit sale will have a mention of it's own.

What I think is the car was not manufactured in the month or perhaps there were no deliveries made, like I said I am unsure of the reason but I still do not think they sold 0 due to the A8.

Regards,

Cars pile up with dealers as sales skid - The Times of India

Is this an indication of lower figures to be seen in March sales?

There's actually three more reasons:

- Inflation! Consider how the prices of basic commodities have shot up.

- Petrol at over 60 bucks a pop. The high-revving fuel is priced at stratospheric levels now. A full tank of a regular C segment car now costs 2,500 rupees.

- Interest rates creeping up.

Very true. I have been using Shell since past 1 yr or so.
Last time I filled it was 68. By the time I could look back and check the price, nozzle was in my tank and happily peeing into it . Couldn't do much.
I think people like me will have to stop driving soon and switch to Volvo
