Team Tiger Sport India Vento launch at Le Meridien Coimbatore with Volkswagen Motorsport.

Our Vento was unveiled to the press and motorsport fans on the eve of the Coimbatore Rally at the JK Tyre Dinner by Aditya Patel and Arman Ebrahim.

The Vento runs a 1600 cc engine, modified to Indian Touring Car spec and will eventually have a close ratio gearbox with a limited slip differential. The car's shell features composite panels and weighs 1010 kgs with driver. We have tied up with KW Suspensions for the Springs and Shockabsorbers for the car. The dampers are of a two way adjustable design with ride height adjustment. The braking system is 4 wheel disc and the car runs on 15in wheels and tyres.

Looking very nice.

Composite panels look like a good idea to reduce weight.

BTW are they really 15" wheels? I doubt, they are looking like 16" or 17" wheels. Please confirm. Which tyres are shoed on those alloys and what are the specs?

The car is on 17in polo cup wheels for the launch. For the race it will be on 15in wheels.

I saw and heard this Vento at MMST over the weekend. Sounds fabulous but I think it was slightly off the pace.

However, word around the paddock (I love using that phrase! Makes me look like some insider!) is that they were experimenting with different setups and due to that, during the practice sessions it didnt set the track on fire and it didnt run continuously either. Generally the opinion was that the car has major potential and with backing from VW itself, it should soon start living upto it's potential.

I didnt stay for the ITC races on Sunday so I dont know the final performance.

Gill blazed the track. One week after he went berserk at Kari speedway.

Our first race outing with the Vento - the first time anyone has entered a Volkswagen Vento in Indian Motorsport.

We had an oil cap issue in the first race and had to pull out. In the second race which was wet we were running third and two laps from the chequered flag, Arjun passed Leelakrishnan to finish second.

We are happy that we could put the Vento on the podium on its debut. Our thanks to all our supporters and friends.

Great news! I was looking forward to some new cars! The Esteems are good and all but I was keen to see some modern cars racing!
