No handbrake

The F10 5-Series has an electronic parking brake. If you pull the p-brake switch on the move, no, the rear wheels don't lock. Instead, the BMW applies emergency braking on all 4 wheels (with a warning on the MID).

That makes sense. The car clearly looked to be bogged down by electronics.

But then how would your drift a 530D? Will it just be a case of powerdrift?

In a 530d, just putting off the traction completely will work. Hold down the DTC button for 3-4 seconds, and traction control is totally off. Then driving it in sport or manual mode, its very easy to get the tail to swing out.
