power to weight class was the original idea - but in the absence of a dyno, not possible.
we dont want this to be a cheap series. the idea is to bring about some development into car racing. there isnt much development in the other classes (hyundai, swift and chevrolet) as they are being kept cheap.
There are so many tuners in bangalore, bombay and delhi who tune accords, skodas, accents and the like (with nos, chip upgrades, new ecu's). we want these tuners to come into racing. That is why we want to have the least restrictions.
if you look at the lap times from 15 years ago and now, there hasn't been much change. Whereas it should have come down by atleast 10-15 seconds. fissme's 15 years back were doing around 2mins. the rolon's now are doing 1.56's i think.
bolt on roll cages might be allowed if they pass some standard. need to check with the experts on this.
not too sure about the custom chassis modifications. will have to check with the club seniors on this.
according to FIA, minimum 6 cars are required for a race to run. but we will be looking at minimum 12 cars to confirm before we can take this to the next step.
will take ur suggestion on the tyres to the clubn seniors and let you know what they say.
if it all works out well - we might be looking at the indian touring car championship! well at least thats the dream.

If your aim is to use the series as a base to showcase tuner exploits, then you should stick to the p/w ratio, using the company-claimed output as the measure. Any extra power is courtesy the tuner, and will show itself on the racetrack. This will also negate the need for a dyno.

So u guys completely ruling out stock car classifications? Why not have some of that old fashioned fun factor thrown in? My vote goes to the 1.1 - 1.4L stock category, if you have one.
