Today's Wheels section of The Hindu has an article by one Ouseph Chacko who participated in the Reliability category on a stock Swift. No mention as to what place he finished.

Bijoy was in a tough spot. His car went down a few hundred feet down a hill. All occupants escaped safely though.

@ Mpower - Leaf spring - WHat a nightmare. Hit one hump and the car continues to bounce like a crazy ball for the next 100 metres. By the way the springs are completely flat after the rally. Totally straight.

It's a shame about the publicity. Most papers up north covered the event. None down south have. Maybe I'll just have a word with a couple of people.

I agree I have done the route thrice and it really happens its really difficult to move the vehicle "I was riding a bike" even on a straight plain. Comming down is real fun I beleave the megnatic field pulls the bike to the ground I have always managed to touch 100 KPH at places comming down from Chang La. The road is a real pleasure to ride on and and the Indian Army really deserves appriciation for mentaining the road so well at such high altitude.

And I was born and spent most of my life in himachal so i never get altitude sickness!!!
