Its so uncanny, but over the last three days I have seen atleast 10 cars that were present in the speed-run. Saw the red Camaro at Prabhadevi, the yellow Escort RS at worli, the silver/blue lancer at shivaji park...

Hey GTO, the collection is looking real hot. Great to have u back from Devlali with a real big bang ( i can see u've crossed 600 posts today).

Well my take on the speed-run as i'd promised GTO.

The practice day was pretty eventful, more than what i'd expected it to be. Except for the disqualification of the Porsche Boxster, everything else went rather smoothly. Yea, GTO, the zen converted by Shreyas and his friend were pretty much the best of the 1.0 litre zens for the day. Yet, the star was RG's SL55. Which some people still confuse for a Hyundai Sonata convertible .

2nd day and i was late. Late for the zen class runs and late for the esteem class runs. But the day was revvingly raucious.
How does a 70+ man driving a 944 and winning a drag convincingly sound to you? Too good right. Team-Yamaha had an awesome display of antics, and the guy who did the wheelie for 17 seconds odd the star of the two-wheelers. Cowasji seemed like a threat on his V-max, but thats where he was limited to. Completely outdone by the competition.

Poonawala's City was disqualified and so were another 1-2 cars. But our worries weren't limited there. Enter the Supra.

The Supra, meant to be the fastest thing on the drag wasn't really as fast as it seemed. Driven by a guy who was only good at launching the car (as Shreyas indicated in the chat yesterday), and a car that only had power, but no balance, i was disappointed to see him perform rather lowly at the drag. There's just no doubt that RG pretty much stole the show,m even though on paper the Supra took the top-honours. What mattered most was we (RG and team-bhp) won against the Supra. Call it pride, but surely it was in place this time around.

So what's next? Maybe a team-bhp drag run. Quite possible. GTO and other moderators, time to put our thinking caps on.
