| well, its all good that india is getting a track and all... there are 2 main things. First, the will india be able to build a track in 2 yrs, considering the pace at which our bureaucracy works and time it'll take to complete such huge task. Second, not sure, if India has enough experienced people who can organise all such a big event.....i mean the last thing u want a chaotic environment. |

| Senior - BHPian | well, we are finally going places. Personally, I think we have the competence to handle an event of this size. Firstly, tickets might get sold out pretty soon, and secondly, we can now have a track day in an F1 circuit! yippie! |

| Senior - BHPian | not to be a "buzz kill" but i got this from rediff's news article. "The race, officially termed 'Formula 1 Grand Prix of India', is to be promoted by the Indian Olympic Association, subject to the IOA entering into a final contract with Formula One Administration (FOA) by September 30 this year." So is there still a questionmark... or has it been confirmed? |

Infractions: 0/1 (10) | i thought it was going to be a streetrace.articles in newspapers were stating that vijay mallya with bernie were travelling around delhi to select a track. apparently shiela dixit had payed them 500crores for getting the work started.afaik, the roads around rashtrapati bhavan had been shortlisted. though its better that the track gets made..... ![]() and i stay 15min away from delhi ![]() Last edited by aah78 : 14th June 2007 at 20:59. | Senior - BHPian | Sorry to be a pessimist, but there is many a slip between the cup & the lip. I dont see how the formalities & construction, testing of a F1 track could be finished in less than 2 years. But then anything is possible with the good times. I really hope so too. |
