Check out the video "F1 Sponsorship explained" in the following site SPEEDtv.com - Videos

It uses the Toyota team as an example during the 5 minute segment with Vijay Mallya coming on during the middle of the video talking about Kingfisher Airlines.

Also, the announcer mentions India possibly being a F1 race venue in 2010.

My line on this is it wont happen til 2012.
ALL the ifra has to be 100%.It has to be dust free zone or else the cars will fart & burp into oblivion.48 months is not enough time.
But as im in india in 2010 , if its on ill go .What will be the supporting races?
HAs anyone given that any thought?
Will India get to have the pan asian GT champ at last ? Or is it Form maruti?

How is the landscape in Greater Noida? Is it flat or has gradients?

It is most definitely Noida.

I know someone very close to the related parties. And hence I know.
You might doubt my source but I have in the past only posted information based on very reliable source and not on speculation.

Thanks
Redcandle

PS: I wish I get to come there.

Nice news. 2010 is not too far away. It would be fun to listen to the roar of those F1 engines when they come to India

The latest is to have the race'es by 2011. A delay of 1 year as, as per the original plan it was to have the races started by 2010.

The area is being developed by YEIDA or Yamumna Expressway Industrial Development Authority. And the contract to makes the Race Track has been given to JP group. The race track lays about 13 kms from Pari Chowk (greater Noida) towards Agra.

The construction has already started and hopefully should finish by the stipulated time. Fingers crossed.

You can read the link above to know more about the race track and the completion.

Edit: As of now the new airport at Jewar hasnt been cleared by the Govt.
