August 07 Track Day: Report & pics - pg 15 onwards

Seems like everyone is talking of track day rumours, but I don't see much, so this is to get the ball rolling.

Chennai guys, is there a possibility of a track day soon?

BLR guys, what would you prefer, MMST or KMS?

Will be up with all the details by 11am today. Need to call the track managers and find out the availability. Then based on the numbers we will take a final call on the pricing. So all those of you who are interested kindly sign up soon. I am guessing we should be doing it either 1st or 2nd week of August.

For those who are new to track days, here is what it is.

1. An opportunity to understand your car and your driving skills better.
2. A golden chance of getting onto track in your own cars at really affordable prices. Get to be your favourite F1 driver in your own car.
3. It is not a race, so those who think it is will be disappointed.
4. Its a wonderful way to spend your weekend. Specially for those who love speed and cars. A long drive followed by a few sessions on track. Can it get any better?
5. No risks of being caught by the cops, fined for driving fast nothing. You are a king on track provided you drive responsibly and not putting others in danger.
6. Heel'n'toe, understeer, oversteer, late braking, straight lining a corner, riding the kerbs I learnt it all here. So can you!
7. Anybody can come with any car. From a Maruti 800 to a BMW 7 series. We treat all cars equal. Our aim isto help everyone get to know their cars better, which will go a long way in helping us in those panic stricken situations on public roads too (god forbid).
8. No Mine is Bigger than your's attitude will be encouraged. We all come here to enjoy and day or two and thats the way we would want to end it.
9. All those coming from out of station, arrangements will be made for stay and food too.
10. Based on the numbers we will be able to put up the final rates. But expect it to be anywhere between 2-3k for a full day on track.

Being the only one on TBHP to have attended every official track day held and some non-official ones too i request you all to come and experience this once. Its something you will not repent. For all those of you who are still in doubts read the following threads:

Im in for the MMST one. KMS will be a tad difficult!

MMST is occupied the 2nd weekend. Besides, its getting monotonous doing the MMST everytime. I suggest we go for a change. KMS is a nice track to go to.

When is it? Got the K1000 rally from 17th to 19th. Will not be available during that week.

Any is okay for me as long as mcl provides us driving directions. Mcl please try and have it after 14th as I shall only be returning then. Would love to take my Cedia to a track .

how about end of august ? wheres the KMS track btw

Aug 4-5th - MMST & KMS free.
Aug 11-12th - MMST booked.
Aug 18-19th - KMS booked.
Aug 25-26th - KMS free.

So its either 1st week, 2nd or last week of August @ KMS, Coimbatore.

Or 1st week, 3rd week or last week @ MMST, Chennai. Now can we have the votes roll?

Some of us will be doing that also nitrous. But we also want to get on track.

Ajmat, I think there is a problem with the poll. I had voted for the 1st & 2nd weekends both. But, its not showing. Could you start a new thread and move these posts into it with options for 1st or 2nd week? Getting hold of either track on the last week will be impossible as some of the teams are planning to do some testing.
