I remember memo & myself drove all the way to Bombay 1k+ kms running in my car. Yes, we didn't hit speeds of more than 70 till Pune. If one is determined to make it, you will. No excuses. Even if CBE or MMST were 600 kms each way, I can assure you that some of us would still make it without ever complaining.
Just consider this. For chennai folks,
There is a track hardly 40 kms away. CBE is 450kms away, which is easier.
whereas for the bangy boys, it is the same distance for either of these tracks.

John, lets stop giving excuses. Bahrain GP is on a different phase of the globe when compared to Suzuka/Hungary/Belgium. Does that mean F1 teams should just stick to one track? There are countless number of restaurants in Chennai. Do you always visit the one closest to your house ? Oh now that you did bring up the track being close to you thingy, Bangalore had drag events but I quite clearly remember traveling all the way to Bombay which is over 1k kms instead of sitting with one leg over the other saying my drag strip is just 10kms away from home. Why bother going so far. I am lazy, quite a lot at that. But I surely don't make lame excuses. If I don't want to come I say it, rather than finding reasons not to come.

I have seen countless number of posts where some of them keep saying track day is worth it and request members from different parts of the country to travel to Chennai. I believe in "Preach what you Practice". If you think track days are really worth that much, then make an effort irrespective of where they are held. Don't attend it and rave about it ONLY because they happen to be just 40kms from your residence. That said, there is no point in forcing people to come. Those who do will have fun, those who don't will miss out.

Back to topic at hand, MOSTLY jay & myself MIGHT come to track as spectators only. Let me see how things materialize. Will keep you guys informed.

Technically, yes. But there is always a chance that some mad partymen can throw a stone at your car when you take the highway. An out-of-state car only makes things worse... if you know what I mean.

No rally or processions will be there AFAIK.

Does that mean all Chennai BHPians come to every track day?

If my car gets delivered by Saturday evening, Jay, binoy, a couple of Jay's friends and myself will be coming in my car. Need to do some running in, but we will leave only after the cricket match. If not most probably we might hitch a ride with Vikram.

If required, I can be the lead car to show you guys the lines for a couple of laps.

Sriram, I guess this time around the party men will be targetting KL reg cars only. KA should be safe

To be on the safer side people driving back on Monday can take the Sathyammangalam route. You'll reach teh state border in less than 2 hours time. After an hours time you'll be in elephant territory and they dont look at you registration plates
