Would the trackistas prefer leaving on a Saturday, or early Sunday morning?

Its a wise decision if you are not a cricket fan. While most of the country will be at a standstill to watch the match, I think you could cover up some good ground.

That is one of the reasons for my decision. Plus the car will also get some rest unlike the last track day where it was straight from the highway to the track.

How about reaching CBE early on saturday, gather around with fellow TBHPians at a local watering hole with a big screen TV, where we can watch the match?

Regards,

Welcome back Shailu. Guys, I second this idea. Makes more sense since most of you want to drive back on Sunday.

Just heard from a colleague that the bandh on Oct 1st is called off. Now that means you guys have nothing to worry about. Have fun.

EDIT: Flash News from Sun TV... The High Court has decided to not call off the bandh. Please be careful guys. Especially out of state cars.

FOLKS!!..

Travelling during a bandh has never posed a problem for me, and have done it many times in the past in all the southern states - PROVIDED you follow a few simple instructions - It works - Believe me - I come from a land of bandhs ( on an average at least 60-70 days a year - in a lean year!!!)

1. NEVER travel in a car with TAXI plates.
2. Have a BIG poster printed sayin "WEDDING" and stick it on your front and rear windscreens.
OR
3. Drive with you headlights ON and honk continuously at the smallest hint of a crowd - This signifies you have some medical emergency - IN fact I have even had some cops give way on occassion

Lastly Bangy boys... those who want to drive back on 1st can opt to take the SATHYAMANGALAM - CHAMRAJNAGAR - BANGY route. This route sees hardly any traffic and is also sufficiently off the beaten track for it to be safe. All the drama -if any- will be centred around the Walalyar checkpost etc which is like comparing Heathrow to Vijayawada Airport! (therefore more political milage) Secondly you get into Karnataka within some 80 odd kms of Coimbatore as against having to travel in the state all the way till HOSUR. ... And some smacking scenery to boot!

Not really advisable as there won't be any bride in the car. Plus, I don't think it's legal in india as well, so you can't getaway by saying wedding. lol!
