HONDA One Make Race @ Chennai

I just read in october issue of AUTOCAR & OVERDRIVE it states that HONDA is organising a track day from 31 october to 2 november at CHENNAI. It will be importing the CBR150R specially for the event.

There are two categories for the race :

NOVICE CLASS : HONDA CBF STUNNER
INTERMEDIATE CLASS : HONDA CBR150R

Honda will provide the bikes, it has also imported the CBR150 especially for this event.

From what i know, regular joe's are fine as long as they have a FMSCI license to race (for 'how to apply' questions, go to The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India ). Those without prior race experience will have to take part in the "Novice" category aboard "stunner's" and those with race experience (atleast a year) can take part in the 'Intermediate' category on CBR150R. As is typical of these events, the articles in the magazines said, 'go to nearest honda dealer for more details', so I went over to the Honda showroom at Domlur and guess what? They had no clue what i was talking about....go figure.

after the Yamaha event its the time for the Honda!!
Lets hope they finally wake-up to the enthusiasts calls and bring in the CBR150 to pitch against the R15. Till then lets enjoy the bikes in action

The FMSCI folks themselves are yet to update their website(as of 12noon, 30th September) no wonder the dealers scratch their heads.

Someone pinch me...are they really running the CBR 150R. I might ride down to chennai to have to look at this, if its really those rockets! :O

I think you'll have to register. One needs to have a set of racing leathers ,boots,golves and a helmet to register,i think.
First day should be practice and qualifying. After which, the top 15(or so) times will be allowed to race on the raceday.

FMSCI website has not still been updated and of the dates mentioned here, Nov 1st and 2nd there is Ucal Rolon NRRC – Round 5 is scheduled @Chennai as per their website.

Not one rider had racing leathers in the R15 race held by Yamaha a few weeks back.

Gosh, its so easy for them to launch the CBR150 here. I think its manufactured in Thailand and we have an FTA with them.

All the chennai annas(and also people from other places) please post lots and lots of pics and videos.

Mpower, lets wish they launch this one in India. I am sure this would be hit here in India. Also they have a good image and Sales network here.

Hi Guys! This is Amit Arora - I am the COC on behalf of MMSC/MMS for the Honda 1 make race to be conducted on 31st Oct & 1-2 Nov. The races will run along with the UCAL ROLON NRRC. Entries are open till 23/10/08(tomorrow) for the Stunner Super Star class. The race is open to all Novice/ new comers. Basically anybody and every body can take part. There are a total of 60 riders who will go in for Qualifying for the Stunner class out of which only 15 will make it to the race. The CBR150R class is open only to winners of UCAL ROLON Championship of 2007-08 on a first come first serve basis as it is restricted only to 10 entries. So, all those who want to take part in the Stunner class can still register and all you require is full riding gear and a FMSCI licence.
