According to the website, the 1000 buck passes are VIP.

They are charging 20,000 bucks for teams per half hour for practice runs. But what about noobs like me who are planning on participating for the first time without any team backing? Shouldn't independents get a couple of runs at a subsidized cost if not free?

EDIT: Ranjit, can you put up more details. How many passes will be given per participant, facilities other than canteen, what time to be there, etc. All this is not mentioned in the website.

I dont know about things outside but this thread isnt moving at all.
Nobody seems interested in another drag race or maybe the 1000 spectator and the 5000 entrance has detered everyone..????
Gameover, DRAGSTAR, KSmotorsport, etc...?? Are they taking part...???
Bangy cars...???

A few reasons why most are turned-off is,
Heavy entry fee(3.5k for indian bikes is no ways cheap), spectator fee is another bomber(1000rs?), 20000rs for practise runs?, 75k for team pits etc. Thats more pricey than entering a championship race event more than twice.
It has to be fairly expensive, not by this much.
This is my view.

This is great news specially for the Kharghar locals like me (the track is behind my buliding), but the passes to watch is a big let down..

Maybe you should sell passes to watch from your balcony...

I wont sound offensive, but i would just like to know certain things. How many tuners around India have actually taken an effort to take the motor sports scene to a level where people would actually talk about. This is going to be on every single member's mind or maybe not who take enough time to sit leisurely and post comments on a brainchild of a person who wants to make this happen. I have been involved a bit and have seen what has gone into this to be happening event. Guys why not encourage these certain people who have been trying to help people like you and me and all those enthusiasts who would want to participate in such a event.

I really appreciate the efforts taken by Autocar India and BPCL for Speedrun + Mihir Dharkar and group for Torquenite.

Now for the real math:

1: Permission to hold the event at night
2: Cost involved for all the safety measures
3: Advertisement
4: Flood Lights and generators (Since this event will also run at night)
5: Air - Cooled vip sections with snacks
6: Pit Area and space for cars with fans
7: Complete Security
8: Snack and water for all the visitors who would pay to watch the event
9: State of the art trophies
10: Screens in the pit area for the visitors to keep updated what happening on the track
11: Signal lights and timing boards

There are lot more things which are involved and we yet have to say why is it so expensive? How easy is it to say? Instead why not lets give them a boost by providing our support. and trust me if any member who can get the MATH and try to make it much simpler than whats going on with organizing the event and get sponsors, the pricing will certainly go down.

My post is certainly not to hurt any member or hurt any tuner in mumbai or over india. But this is what i felt and i am writing.
