Thanks to brraj and all those involved in getting this organized. I had great fun yesterday.
The S Drives held up well on the track for most part. Its such a rush to push your car and yoursel to the limit and then some.

He was there of course! I can't possibly go to any TBHP event without him. And he has an added attraction in the form of Muscat bakery!

Default White Lightning strikes MMST

Had a whale of a time, though it was a first time for me and my car on a race track ignoring my karting days about 10 years back. I thought I would spin out at least once with a car which is ill suited to a race track - but credit to my "White Lightening" a 5 year old Wagon R which has about 110000 kms on the Odo with a suspension which must feel the effects of its age now I enjoyed the day absolutely.

As the day progressed I had decent confident to push the limits of the car and myself slowly. In case I had unintentionally slowed down any fast runners my apologies.

Nitrous you are an awesome tutor. Thanks for patiently explaining the lines to be taken, how to optimally enter and exit the curves and not to forget the ideal braking and acceleration points for each corner, making it a point to give your feedback each time I made a mistake.

I think it would be worthwhile to get a video done of Nitrous explaining how to drive on the track, certainly a must for all newbies.

Thanks to rajiv sir for organising this wonderful meet had a blast of a time pushing my M800. The useless stock size mrf zigmas held up pretty well. I only spun out once but that was ahead of 3 cars (that was really scary moment). I did pretty good times for a first timer my carting experience really helped. Mr raj.barcode please help out with the times.here are a couple of pics from the track day for your pleasure.

@ Rahul - nice pictures why didn't the Red 1.6 take the track?
@ Bottle - How did the Black 1.6 fair with the AD07s?

waiting for more pics. take care.

Rahul cant afford trackdays after changing 12 sets of ES100's

AD07 was really good , lots and lots of grip , you can drive like a jackass and still be in control of the car. I found the grip too much especially in the rear it was causing car to understeer quite a bit, still not able to come to terms with that and for some reason car felt dog slow on the straights. I wish I had come to track a bit early and put in some more laps, had gone really late around 3pm and drove about 10 laps or so

Those are some fantastic timings Nikhil. Missed catching up with you yesterday though I did see your car parked in the pits. I did a 2:41 on the stopwatch in a diesel car with the AC on.

I was in the Mondeo about 100 meters behind you when you spun out. Next time you spin, you may want to wait for the cars right behind you to pass before you turn around to continue. I had slowed down too so there were no issues that time.

Rahul, great pics! Did you take any videos?

No mate, only pics. My cam doesn't support video. I could have taken video through mobile but we were so exhausted after the pics, because of sun that went back to pits hehe

PS: i had also timed the red Punto MJD, it did it in 2:38. But it was not pushed at all because of the new car and tyres . But what i could make that it had good handling and less roll(not sure may be because wasn't driven very fast).

Few high-res pics are here, if anyone interested http://www.flickr.com/photos/rahulko...7624347394265/

@Rahulkool, Nice photos dude..

@Nikhilb2008, How can AD07's be shreaded like that? is that due to manufacturing defect? That tire is built to handle abuse on tracks..

Thanks mate.

I don't know much about tyres but i guess there are many factors.

Nikhil drive like total maniac on track lol, you won't believe how much oversteer he had to do on the corners.
Tyres are done about 20-22k on road and then one earlier trackday.
Track surface is not good, its very rough.
Car's suspension also plays a role i guess, stiff suspension is better for these tyres.

My review in points

- Had super fun on track.
- Loved the way petrol mondeo was moving on tracks especially with ESP ON - no drama atall.
- Was fun watching nitrous driving wagonr on track.
- With just 1.3 tank of diesel elantra could manage Bangalore-sriperumbudur-Track-sriperumbudur-Bangalore trip. Thats great mileage sriraj.
- I guess few of them dropped in the last minute fearing it could rain.
- Was shocked to know our tyrewala Nikhil didnt know from which direction to loosen the nuts to replace his shredded neovas. Have to agree his saying that "nuts were too hot to handle" n please dont pour water on it .

All in all was fun meet.
